nissan patrol y61 3.0 diesel oil pressure light

Featured Replies

hi!

i have a nissan patrol 3.0 diesel 2004. the oil pressure light comes on sometime when i starts it and it stays on. and sometimes it doesent come on. all random

what may be the problem?

It is possibly one of the oil pressure sensors, there is detailed thread about it on this forum. Series 4 ZD30 uses 2x sensors, RHS is called high pressures (it is mounted above starter motor and LHS is under turbo charger called low pressure sensor. There is also a resistor box on RHS foot well area next to pedals (door side) if yours is RHS steering wheel model....

When Nissan had bulletin about it, information sent to the dealers about replacing both sensors and resistor box. Most commonly the failure is RHS "high pressue" sensor however due dilligence would be to measure actuall oil pressure. See the detailed thread/post about it.

It is known problem for Series 4. Just another epic fail from Nissan as usual.
