Wood Fires

Featured Replies

Ray try installing a ceiling fan in the room where the fire is to bring down the heat caught at the ceiling...Works a treat

Also our fires have had no flue restrictors but ash doors which are below the fire

I only have a wall mounted gas heater so I went and got a pedestal fan from the shed and set it up pointing up (hey I couldn't mount it to the ceiling!)

The difference when circulating the air was 4 degrees which is amazing.

Planning some ceiling fans (would have to be low profile so I don't get decapitated) or a ceiling height, wall mounted fan that I can use in winter.

Sucks that my evaporative cooling doesn't have a recirculate function, that would be handy.

Because our two hounds go ballistic over ceiling fans when they're turned on, I've been searching for alternatives that don't have blades and the only one I've come up with is this, but none seem to be available in Australia: http://www.diskfan.com/ceiling-fan.html. Has anyone heard of something similar?

Cheers

Ray
