June 14, 201213 yr comment_4803 Hi guys. The old tank has had the death wobbles for a while now and the 2" lift just made it worse.. So I'm starting with the panhard rod bushes.. There genuine at the moment with 480 000 k on them so probably a little overdue anyway.. Just wondering what material people have found to be the best result and how long they last? Ie rubber, poly, uhmw??? Also I notice some come with an outer sleeve and some don't. Any reason for that outer sleeve?? Cheers Edited June 14, 201213 yr by BigGQWesty Report
June 14, 201213 yr comment_4808 Hi go straight to the swivel hub /king pin bearings thats the most common cause and dont go polly, rubber always works better (unles yours is a race car ) Alan Report
June 14, 201213 yr comment_4809 If you haven't changed any of the bushes in that time, then most likely every one of them is shot. Only use rubber and get genuine if you can. The rubbers that have been vulcanised into an inner and outer steel sleeve are usually the best and hold up the longest. The sleeves prevent the rubber from shreading due to torsional forces. June 14, 201213 yr Author comment_4814 All the other bushes were changed when the lift went in (15 months ago) to correct camber and diff angle, and all bearings and kingpins were checked at that time to.. So yea, in my eyes this just leaves the panhard rod. So Ray in guessing the outer sleeve is a sung (press fit) into the rod?? If not how does that go for wear being steel in steel?? Cheers guys Edited June 14, 201213 yr by BigGQWesty Report

Cheers guys Yes, it should be a press fit and so there should be no movement whatsoever, which ensures that it lasts longer. Cheers Ray. Report

June 14, 201213 yr comment_4819 The only thing I don't quite like about those is the fact that the internal bush isn't vulcanised to the rubber, which means it will be prone to catching crap and potentially shreading. Cheers Ray Report
