  1. Hi go straight to the swivel hub /king pin bearings thats the most common cause and dont go polly, rubber always works better (unles yours is a race car ) Alan
  2. Hi, As Ray said check king pin bearings top one gets lines on the inner from the corrigations bottom one gets rusty from water ingress set up the preload as book or slightly tighter wear in these causes the death wobbles i always do a visual on these as its hard to feel the slop in them Alan
  3. nasty accident that could have been prevented, but hay one lucky fella as a kid on the farm we used to tow an old steel havester wheel behind the ute only had chains back then so i know its common practice to fix the tracks but using a snatch strap for this and fencing wire? maybe they will rethink the whole concept Alan
  4. Hi tonka , sounds like glow plugs problem to me Alan
  5. Hi all, a pic of my setuphttp://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb359/carnaby54/P5276376.jpg"]http://
  6. Hi all, ive converted my airbag dummy cover to a second glove box and run 4 cig plugs these are powerd 24/7 from aux battery and i run gps, i pod ,i pod transmitter & laptop charger all behind the hinged lid neat and tidy Alan
  7. Hi Ray , they are bolted to the strongest part of the bar in a straight line pull the bar is bolted on using 50 % more bolt capacity than the hooks and is supported over a large area of the chasis again on a straight line pull and the towbar itself and the chasis brace the hooks from pulling together under load for the work i do this setup will be fine and is far superior to a single recovery point but thanks for your concern Alan
  8. Hi all here a a few pics of my rear hooks they are 10000bls all test i have seen on these say they straighten out at around 15 ton each http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb359/carnaby54/P5160922.jpg"]http://http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb359/carnaby54/P5160921.jpg"]http:// Alan

  16. Hi all id sooner have two 10000lbs hooks mounted next to the chasis than to pull off 1 point in the centre of a towbar with a max tow limit of 3500kg remember most of the stuff we bolt onto our beloverd trucks doesnt meet aus standards for lifting & rigging and is not tested to destruction Alan

  18. ARHHH but you will use a single attachment point on a towbar rated at 3500 kg and remember theese dont meet aus standards for lifting and rigging so the 5-1 factor does not apply chains are part of most recovery kits and are used as an equalizing to hook your snatch strap to the origonal front tow point looks pretty strong too but we pull them off and fit 2 why is that ? Alan
