Hi guys, new member here. Thanks for having me.

I have a GQ 7 seater wagon and want to start doing more trips away with the family. I want to ditch the dickie seat in the back to make room for some draws I have and a fridge but need 6 seats. Will the seat out of a ute (the 1 & 1/2 passenger seat) Bolt straight into my wagon and if so how does the centre seat belt mount?

Cheers

Yes, it does bolt straight in (extra mounting holes are under the carpet). You will need the bracket which bolts the seat (RHS back) on the ute to the wagon floor. You will also need extra seat belts bits which will bolt on to existing seat belts mounting points. See the pics. The middle seat will only have lap belt.

Cheers

Hello everyone, I also have a question about seats. I have lwb gq patrol witch has those trooper carrier style seats in the back (while sitting on it you are sideways towards driving direction). One under each rear window. And the problem is that there are no seatbelts so I would like to know if there has to be some (I mean did the nissan factory mount them) and if yes then are they two or three point belts and how are they mounted (the attachment points). Ihave tried to find some pictures or manuals that include this information but so far uselessly so Ihope you guys can help me.

Personally, I think you will find that those seats will not have anything better than just two point seatbelts at best probably none is the case.

Looking at specs it seems that bench/3rd row side facing seats were Middle East/Gulf states issue. If it is military style bench than there will be no seatbelts.

You could pick seatbelt mounting points where the actual seat itself is mounted as long as those anchor points bolts exceed dia 10 mm

A similar problem is faced by those with Toyota troop carrier. Ie mine sites etc. Kids can't travel sideways, and the mines have safety first policies. The mines fit them so they have a total of 2 seats in the front, and the Middle row has two, and the back one has three. rows of three - forward facing. A third door is installed for access. Google troopcarrier 8 forward facing seats for pics.

The seats are available in a couple of formats. A row of three, a row of two, and a single (and maybe a separate single seat that folds forward. What is good about them, is that they have a seatbelt incorporated, with a child seat anchor behind each seat. The only installing skill is picking the right spot to bolt it to. Now it isn't really that hard, because you need to pay a licensed installer to do it for you.

Something like that might help you. Start with a google of tech safe seating. I think they are the parent company. From there, they will be able to point you to a local installer.

For an example of costs, a three seater bench and a single, and extended seat rail for front passenger seat was $5200, including supply, install, and engineering. The vehicle was a Toyota troopcarrier.

Let us know how you go.
