Battery isolators

Featured Replies

G'day guys. Just wondering what battery isolators everyone uses in their setups and your thoughts on these.

I am looking at getting a deep cycle agm with a 100amp redarc isolator.

I use a natoinal Luna for the battery in the car. It has a monitor in cab with an override button to jump start of 2 nd battery if needed.

I also have a basic projecta VSR for the camper Anderson circuit.

I have a redarc in the ute and a Matson in the wagon. Both work well. I use little red LED volt meters to monitor all the batteries that I paid about $3.95 each for from Fleabay.

i spent months trolling the web about dbs and found so much b.s.

in the end i ended up with a traxide dbs. the owner is on forums everywhere. lots of good info and knows his stuff. and contactable.he has a few versions of dbs and he cant even keep up with orders.

highly reccomended

For reasons unknown the previous owner just paralleled the batteries together. Yep, two cranking batteries. I can start it with them reading down to 9.2v

The reason was the previous owner was a stingy cheap ass. Get/do it properly. I don't think you need to increase the cranking capacity at the expense of getting both batteries flat when using accessories.

Cheers
