Shorty1989
Ok so I've changed my front wheel bearings but there is still a vibration when I slow down and sometimes above 70. The steering wheel doesnt move when it happens. What else could it be?
Rumcajs
Speed related vibration is usually a wheel balance problem first.Cheers
Shorty1989
Got a balance and an alignment done today. Same problem still occurs. Another thing I noticed that when coming to a stop I have a big vibration, slight clunking noise and the gear stick bounces. Could it be an engine mount or something? BigGQWesty
Sounds like mounts of some sorts. Check engine and gearbox mounts. Kallen Westbrook Owner of Westy's Accessories
Paddy16
I had similar issues. Replaced the engine mounting and all gone. Yours sound like Westy is right with gearbox mountings.
Fathom
If not a mount somewhere. You could check your castor bushes. Also although probably checked when you got an alignment. Check your tie rod ends. If you are running muddies.. I am told they can be a mongrel to balance... Maybe not done well?
BigGQWesty
X2 with castor bushes, mine never got checked with alignment and it was loose. Got to it before it flogged the hole to far. So yes, check them aswell. Try to get 100nm, and if you need new bolts get zinc plated metric fine 8.8 grade bolts. admin
When I got my beast, I noted a shake at 80K-> 95K per hour.. I spent nearly 2K getting tie rod ends, castor correction, steering dampers, wheel alignments, drag link etc etc - Still nothing has fixed it.. Thou, I havnt had a freeking wheel balance. I will get onto that!
Shorty1989
I fixed the problem. Found out it was radius arm bushes, gearbox mounts, rear UNi joint and trailing arm bushes. Thanks for all your help
