Can some tell me if it's possible to remove the sump with the engine still in place. Will I need to jack the front up and drop the shocks, sway bar etc?

Oh, you're after info on historical engines. I can say with authority that you can remove the sump, in situ, on another ancient engine, the SD33, so the same could be for that old timer.

Yes..the sump can be removed in chassis...also unlike a zd30..you can get to alot of other parts on the motor
