Sump removal.
Can some tell me if it's possible to remove the sump with the engine still in place. Will I need to jack the front up and drop the shocks, sway bar etc? Thanks in advance.

Avoiding big red
The quality of the road was fine. There's a lot of mining happening and we passed a few road trains with side dumping buckets on em. One of them hit a bull standing in the middle of the road recently and put the whole rig on its side. The amount of blood spray stains/splats on the road was unreal , seemed like every two hundred yards. Keep a csi team busy 24,7 :-)

An insult to timber
Yes, 200 x 38 select grade, skip dressed, kiln dried blackwood in cubic meter packs. If I was into turning small stuff I'd have a use for the off cuts, but it get used for solid benchtops etc

Losing oil from engine
Thanks , didn't think of that. Cheapest option I heard so far by a long shot. I'll give it a good steam clean and see how it goes. I might get lucky!

An insult to timber
Yeah um hate to say it but I started my fire last night with bits of select grade blackwood. Bought the stuff @ $3,500 m3, big enough for some crafty stuff but off cuts from a bed room suite I'm working on. felt a bit guilty but hey you gotta keep warm!

Losing oil from engine
I have a reasonably big leak of oil from where the timing cover back plate meets the block. Hoping to fix it insitu. Hoping I won't have to pull the cam out to reseat the plate . The engine was rebuilt 100,000 kms ago so can't see the point rebuilding it just yet. Just want to stop the oil leak. Anybody know what's involved? Thanks in advance.

Avoiding big red
Lol,you right. haven't had the pleasure of meeting that one yet. Did a trip from Broken Hill to Wentworth recently, seen too many to count but thankfully they all sat or moved away from the road.

Just out of curiosity I'd look up what bitumen fumes do to you before slapping it on. Just so you make an informed decision.

Avoiding big red
So your barreling down the track and you look up and a big red is smack bang in the middle of the road/track, side on to you . You can't brake fully in time.So you've gota choose, go the tail side, or nose side or mince him through your FMIC What's your preferred option?

Just to get the ball rolling. . .
Arch Nemisis replied to Dylan91's topic in Nissan Patrol GQ/Y60 & Ford Maverick (GQ Patrol, 1988–1997)Gday , well it all boils down to budget suprisingly . Or how many rear wheel kws you chasing. the full monty might be modified pump from Matt at United fuel injection on WA or one of Swaffies. Probably a tricked upTD05 off United as well. Then Id recomend a Laminova Intercooler of Matt McInnes, a water to air jobbie. When all that comes together you will find your clutch slips so get yourself a Dodge Viper Clutch upgrade from NPC. So Ive just spent about $10k of your folding stuff ! Easy hey! HAve fun
