May 15, 201213 yr comment_2403 I want to get a new key cut. Mister minute and the like wont do it. It is a stand alone key with separate module for locking and unlocking doors. Is there anyone in brissy besides Nissan that do them? Report
May 15, 201213 yr comment_2407 Hi, Don't know about Oz but here in Portugal I can get a locksmith to cut and code a new key to my GU Patrol for less money. There's two ways to do it, one is to make a clone of one original key, they use aftermarket keys and id chips from Silca or Valeo. The other is to use a aftermarket device that adds the new id chip to the ECU and BCM module of the Patrol (like Nissan dealers do with Consult II service tool). You should be able to find a locksmith with the proper gear near you to do the job. Nissan dealers charge a leg and an arm to do this job in Portugal (and anywhere in the world!). Cheers, Edu Report
May 15, 201213 yr comment_2414 ah ... keys. My replacement cost almost $500. Had to order the blank from Nissan ($300) and the locksmith had the car for an afternoon (3 different blanks to make sure they cut it right and then code it). I have a plain blank cut just in case of a lockout. good luck gts. Report
May 16, 201213 yr comment_2422 There are three ways to do this. All quite expensive, but some less than others. Buy a Nissan chipped key and get Nissan to program it to the ECUBuy a chipped key off eBay (some work some don't) and get Nissan to program it to the ECUBuy a key with a programmable chip from locksmith, no need to be programmed as it will mimic the original chip code Report

Keys from locksmith are clones from original key, but my locksmith also has a tool from Silca that can add, delete keys for several car brands ECU including Patrol. You need to take all keys and program all in one go. Edited May 16, 201213 yr by Edu Report
May 16, 201213 yr comment_2427 500$ . A few months ago I asked my locksmith how much for a clone key (no remote) and I think he quoted 40 or 50 €... Yeah ... I knew I was being fleeced but didn't have any other options. Shrouds don't have pockets anyway. Report
May 17, 201213 yr comment_2788 I am unsure why the locksmith cant do it.. I needed to replace my spare set about a year ago.. One of the locksmiths in a Westfield Shopping centre did it... Unfortunately I dont remember which one, just that it was way cheaper than Nisssan quoted me... Still overpriced but cheaper. So I suppose there will be locksmiths around that will do it. Report

July 6, 201213 yr comment_5461 Keep looking, I finally bit the bullet and got one done by a mister minit for $100. Not all of them do it though. I've also got a plain blank key that I take when I goto the beach ect and this just lets me into the car but won't start it. After having a scare and losing my key temporailly I got the proper chipped one done, didn't want to lose it for real and have to fork out for Nissan to reprogram and the cost of towing it to them too.
