  1. There is a small piece of black electrical tape over it at the moment
  2. Interesting. I have T'd in my HE to the heater circuit not realising there was no tap/valve for the heater (99 GU). That's a pain, I can't use a tap to stop water going through the HE anymore if I plump it all inline.
  3. Great idea that. I will hunt down the connector/wire to 13 on the controller. Thanks very much!
  4. Hi guys, Anyone know enough about the sub tank system on the GU so I can get rid of the darn instrument cluster LED warning? I've removed the transfer pump (because I don't need it) and it now has illuminated. Obviously it's smart enough to know it's gone. Will disconnecting the controller unit inside the centre console going to work? Any better ideas? Cheers
  5. I'll also be looking into this for similar reasons. Finding an affordable 200PSI water pump has got me looking for alternative methods. I'd rather use/try WI rather than IC as I need the de-coking primarily. Lower intake temps are a bonus.
  6. I'm interested in this control valve your talking about. What's it do and are they something I would expect to have to replace one day? Can I chuck it?
  7. The filter housing/head has a one way or non-return. It shouldn't allow the fuel to run back to the tank.
  8. GPSTI, if your even half right in what you just said Linux would only be a footnote in computing history. Fortunately for all it still exists, is installed in all corners of this planet and flies the flag for freedom. It's really a shame this thread will turn into the same old debate. So tiring . I'll stick to reading Patrol stuff I think.
  9. As a full time Linux user since 2004 I can recommend all content Windows and Mac users to stay away from Linux and enjoy the great outdoors. Amen.
  10. I used to maintain a dial up control system for an old man back in the mid 90s. The system used a pump and mini hydro setup down around the snowys. Pump the water up hill at night, generate during the day.
  11. My Patrol looked much the same last Sunday. Filled the trailer and then moved onto the car. Thinking of getting a cargo barrier to protect the baby and us from objects from the back. If anyone has one for sale PM me.
  12. $225 yes they are. There is some stock at my local SCA. Thanks for that.
  13. Thanks, looks like I was on the right track then! N70ZZL4WD is the overlander model and 760CCA. I'll look for a good price. Cheers
  14. Hi all, I did a search, not much on this yet. Anyone have any suggestions or clever ideas for a replacement main battery on my 1999 GU diesel 4.2? I bought it with what looks like a "nothing special branded" 600CCA battery from Tyrepower. Century comes up with a N70ZZL4WD for my model - around $200+ I don't have a second battery, don't really need one yet so would like something first class if you know what I mean. Any comments appreciated, otherwise I'll wonder around town looking for something that fits... Cheers
  15. Ok now im with you. They unlock themselves. Thats pretty much what I said. Not sure how they will get damaged. I dont remember reading about anyone damaging the auto hubs by not locking them in.
  16. Ok, not a complete answer but no worries. Ill let you know when mine break.
  17. You might want to explain that a little. Sounds very "silence of the lambs" to me.....
  18. Hi Ray what do you mean by not strongest? Is there a chance of breakage if not fully locked? I thought locking the auto lockers stopped them from unlocking if you have to reverse out if a bind?
  19. A water injection thread turned into a veg & blackdiesel discussion. I'm wondering who you talk to Glort seeing as these people think your veg and WI adventures are radical or "out there"? I think you would be surprised how many of us there are that do both. And we dont all follow convention or recipe. And we dont think your crazy
  20. If its been raining and you know its going to be very muddy or high change of getting stuck - stay the hell out of the forest. Its dead simple. Take your kids to the Zoo instead or clean out your garage.... I trail bike ride as well and follow the same advise. I really struggle seeing ride reports and photos of cars/bikes in bogholes. Its irresponsible in my opinion. May as well drive/ride with no muffler.
  21. This reminds me of the time I changed my diesel fuel filter with the car in the sun.... either do it in the shade or open the fuel filler cap. Ooops.
  22. If those Gps units can run without battery (powered by the 12v lead) the leave the battery out?
  23. I dont have any code issues on mine, just plain key. On ebay i found a nice plastic ended pathfinder key with Nissan on it $12. The mongrel locksmith charges $18 to cut it. $18!!! for 1 min on the cutting machine.
  24. Yeah I fit in this one too. Lucky post number one on this forum. Have to start somewhere eh?
