Hey all, I am looking at getting some new shocks for my coil cab gu and want the best possible ride. Kings are a bit outside my budget however I have been looking at Amada extremes (heard great things about these), SRC shocks (bit pricier, have they fixed the issues with the seals popping out?), and Profender shocks (haven't heard too much other than they are a bit soft for a daily driven patrol). Anyone have any experience with any of these or any other brands you suggest?

Hi All, I have a GU ute with rear coil springs. I already have a 50mm OME lift with 250kg springs which have done approx 90K and are starting to sag. I have fitted a rear coil support. I am considering coil-rite air bags or replacing the rear springs with 400kg springs. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has fitted either. Kevin

  4. Started by BigGQWesty,

Well for the last year I’ve had a clunk coming from the front end of the GQ and I have got under there a couple of times but have not been able to pick the issue. The clunk only happened when the left wheel compressed. So I checked radius arms, springs, shocks, sway bar, the lot. Nothing. Well in the last few weeks it has been really bad and with the old man down I jumped underneath and got him to jump on the bull bar while I inspect it. I’m the first jump I picked the issue. The bolt holding the rear radius bush on the diff was slopping up and down. And about 2 mm's as well. Bummer. So I assume the worst, its flogged the mounting plate out. So today I start to pull …

I have a set of King Springs "comfort" 2" in the front with a factory steel bar, winch, spotties and will soon be going to scrub bars and steel steps. The comfort springs are overloaded now with a 1" spacer in the top to keep it level. I have 2" King heavy duty in the rear with coilrites. What are your opinions on the best springs for comfort in the front of my troll? I am mainly doing large KMs on bitumin and dirt ATM so flex is not a major issue, I want the best ride that I can get. I have EFS Elite shocks all round.

After buying my new Patrol I started going through all the included invoices for past services. I should have gone through them with a fine tooth comb before buying it, but none the less, I have discovered that the Track Rod has been bent and an attempted straightning was carried out by two mechanics and that a drag link kit was installed. Not being uber technical I figured someone here could shed some light (and maybe some photos) of what these are, how they could have become bent (other than the obvious) and wether I should be getting it replaced asap or not. Its got a 2" lift.

Hi, Well seeing ive just done mine and it all went well id'e post up how i did it. Firstly i parked on a reasonably level driveway,Chocked rear wheels and in gear with handbrake on. I got under and set up jack stands roughly to the height it was sitting at, One under the diff housing, between radius arm and swivel housing, ( Oh one side at a time) Then another stand under the chassis behind where back off radius arm meets chassis. Jacked the whole front up, took off wheel and placed stands and lowered onto them. Next i undone the rear nut of the radius arm where it meets the chassis. removed the rear mushroom bush. Then with rattle gun loosened the bolts holding rad…

I just got a quote for an OME 2" lift - ~$1750.00 - includes the springs, shocks, caster correction stuff and fitting including alignment etc. Has anyone got a 2" lift like this and what do you think? Also, can someone with a stock patrol measure from hub center to guard front and rear and post the results?
