Welcome to your new Nissan Patrol Forum This forum was started in a real hurry due to another popular 4x4 forum contracting a virus or some sort of malware. It seems the other site wasnt managed by its owner and its users were frustrated. I have the resources to get this forum up and going and to keep it that way. This forum uses the latest Invision Board forum software which includes mobile phone friendly interfaces. Hopefully you guys can help make this place as good, if not better than the old! Enjoy David

Ive recieved a lot of questions from members of 4x4patrol.com (the other site) about the future of this site - Most of the questions have been fair concidering the doubt over the other forums future. To make things clear and upfront I have put together the following information. Firstly, anyone who runs a forum does it to either make money or they run it out of the kindness of their heart. The later are in the minority. This place will in one way or another need to pay for itself - either through donations, advertising or vendor sponsorship or a combination of these things. Hi Everyone Happy New Year. Today I updated the forum to V5 of Invision Board. This has changed the look a fair bit, which I was expecting - But will tidy up in the following couple of weeks.

I updated tapatalk today from an old version 1.6.6 to the latest 2.1.1. Any issues, let me know

Updated from PHP 8.0 -> 8.1 and updated the forum software again.

Today I switched the forum's hosting from PHP7.x -> 8.0. This should provide a decent speed increase. Let me know if you notice.

Today I have changed the way users must login to the forum. In the past you have used your display name and password to login. From today, you will need to use your registered email address rather than your display name. This avoids hackers attempting to use publicly visible display names in their login attacks.

Today I upgraded the forum to v4.3.1. You may notice some changes. Better Search Better emoji and some other stuff.

Just an FYI - Today I upgraded the forum to version 4.2. This has reverted our colour scheme. I will get our graphic designer to fix this up asap. It shouldnt effect the functionality, so you can keep using the forum as per normal.

Due to the Photobucket debacle, I have disabled the ability for users to link to external images. This will prevent images from going missing months or years after a post has been created. All images will need to be uploaded to our servers where they will be stored indefinitely. If you have any problems with forum limits please message me and I will sort it out.

Today I switched over the forum to 100% SSL. All pages on the site should now display using HTTPS - for 100% encryption between your browser and our webserver. Any problems please post here.

Just updated the forum again - This update should provide us with more speed as it now officially supports PHP7. I would appricate it if desktop users could tell me if it feels any faster! I also updated the tapatalk plugin.

Just performed another upgrade to the forum - IP Board 4.1. This update contains hundreds of small fixes and some new features, including the activity tab, which is kind of cool.

Hi Everyone I have just upgraded the forum to IPS Suite v4.0. Still doing some fixups - I will post back here when its all good to post again. I may end up restoring back to how it was if things dont go well.

Hi Everyone We had a small problem, which caused an entire topic to get deleted, so we resorted to restoring the database from a few days ago. Unfortunatly any new members or posts from about 10pm on the 28th Jan through till about 11pm tonight (3rd Feb 2015) would have gone. My appologies.

Just updated the forum to IP.Board 3.4.4 to squash a few bugs. The look of the site will revert to the standard blue look for a day or so and I will update it back to how it should be soon.

Just updated the forum to IP.Board 3.4.2. Hopefully it will fix the new user activation problems Ive been having!

Just upgrded the board to IP Board 3.4.0 - There is still some cleaning upto do, and once I finish I will reenable the addons like the garage and chat etc.

Hi Everyone Today I enabled the Garage System. Ive found it very hard to keep track of what sort of Patrol you guys have - so I think this system will really help. I can add fields to the garage system for things like engine type, fuel type, etc etc... If you have suggestions please let me know and I will do my best to implement them.

Today I updated a few of the forum names and descriptions - thanks to the member who sent me details of the inaccuracies of the older names and descriptions. Unfortunatly I dont know who the member was - Ive been keeping the changes that they requested in a text file on my desktop for weeks but cannot work out who sent them to me. Whoever it was, thanks. Your suggestion of sub categories for engine types - Not sure about this one?
