A basic Guide to Using Veg oils as Fuel.
Good write up with some good info, how much does the veg oil usually cost you per liter and how many liters/km do you get or approx range per tank and capacity? Cheers mate

Sound, Rust & Waterproofing My Shorty
Not 100%, but I can have a look at it tomorrow and maybe measure or see if I can find some info. But yeah pretty sure it is only a couple of mm thick. Got it off eBay about 6 months a go, for my cab chassis but never used it, was only about $240 for a bulk pack. Not sure how much of a wagon it would do, but if I run out I'll look at bunnings I reckon.

Winch Control Box Covers
I just reposted these pics in their own topic as suggested, mainly so if people use the search function looking for something similar it will be easier to find, and also so it doesn't change this topic too much.

Winch In-cab switch wiring diagrams
Well here are some pics of wiring diagrams if anyone wants to convert there winch to have a kill switch and in-cab control. They are just to give you an idea as I had these pics saved from when I did a similar setup. Uses could be to remotely locate the solenoid pack in an out of the way place, to minimise its exposure to water and mud. Or simply for winching convenience. I liked the idea of having a switch which stops the solenoid pack plug from working unless the switch was on.

UHF Antenna Gain
Good info, thanks mate. Always a bit of a mine field when looking at buying new antenna.

Can you cut an antenna?
I had a fibreglass GME one and after a few too many knocks the tip broke off about 60-100mm. The wire is just a flat ribbon in plastic inside the fibreglass tube. I took the rubber cap off the busted bit and simply tucked the little bit of wire sticking out back in trimmed the top and siliconed it back onto the remaining antenna. Had no noticeable issues with reception or tuning length etc, however the actual antenna wire was never shortened physically, just maybe folded back on itself? At the end of the day the antenna was now no higher than the roof, and it never hit anything again whilst still worked good for what I needed.

Sound, Rust & Waterproofing My Shorty
Nice didnt know bunnings sells that stuff, already got some dynamat, but if I need some extra stuff I'll be ducking into the local bunnings for sure. How do you find the rust prevention system? Do you think it has any effect?

Winch Control Box Covers
I did something similar to Ray, used 5 core trailer wire to install 2 switches in the cab. One as a kill switch cutting power to the solenoids and another as the forward and resverse. So I neve even used my hand control or plugged it in. I used the directions that were on another site and still have the pics on my pc of how to wire it if anyone is interested.

Winch Protector
Looks good Ray. Surely gravity and airflow would hold it down whilst driving without the bungie strap, however piece of mind and also probably stops vibration. I definitely like the concept of reducing the amount of mud and crap going on the cable. Well done.
