  1. Got it into low range for the first time today in ourimbah state Forrest. First 4 wheel driving I've done since getting the new car. Got lost in the bloody place. Damn dead end tracks go on for miles. Car went well :-)
  2. Century will do.
  3. One for Ray!
  4. Bloody awsome, when combined with the victron battery monitor... Thou, if I had my time over again I would get the full blown redarc BMS - http://redarc.com.au...nagement-system which can be had for under a grand now on ebay.. When you add up the cost of the victron (~~250) the ctek Dual 250 (~$270) and then a 240v battery charger its not quite as high as the BMS, but the BMS would be a more elegant solution. I also have a BCDC 1220 in my car which charges the 2nd battery in the car. All works perfectly.
  5. Yeah, I have noticed ads are very targeted, its scary!
  6. The forum recognizes when google search engine bots visit, but not sure about the Facebook - maybe they are looking at the site to.
  7. Back are all ok. After replacing drag link, tierod ends, steering dampner and wheel bearings what else should I be looking at - any 'rubber' I should look at replacing.
  8. Its been around Australia - and the tierod ends are stuffed (being fixed on the 19th)... It doesnt look like its done much 4wd'ing, but I think its done a stack of towing around the country, probably on dirt corrigated roads.
  9. Is it normal, or is having to replace front wheel bearings at 105000km odd in a 2005 GU ? (tie rod ends also rooted)
  10. The outdoor heater IMHO is LPG, not electric. The house appears to have 6 panels - which at 250w per panel would be 1.5kw system - Quite small.
  11. Well, just got back from the Bridle track after a bloody cold 5 days. No deaths this time thankfully. For those who know the area, I can confirm its possible to cross the bluff on a quad :-) - Just.
  12. Its still disabled. :-)

There is a lot of Green movement out there to bad wood heaters due to polution..Crazy. Thou, there should be some rules about what people actually burn in them.. Wet treated wood isnt good for my health.
  14. Yeah, I agree that I use the View New Content button (or latest posts in tapatalk) the most... Only if Im looking for somthing in particular will I go hunting through the categories.
  15. Today I updated a few of the forum names and descriptions - thanks to the member who sent me details of the inaccuracies of the older names and descriptions. Unfortunatly I dont know who the member was - Ive been keeping the changes that they requested in a text file on my desktop for weeks but cannot work out who sent them to me. Whoever it was, thanks. Your suggestion of sub categories for engine types - Not sure about this one?
  16. And well, we dont have a choice but to like it -
  17. My grandmother remembers when they banned watertanks - now there compulsory - I hate that the councils and governments think they know whats best.
  18. Agreed Glort. The governments want to increase population but not infrastructure and the only way to do that is to make the existing population use less - and the best way to do that is to guilt them into it.
  19. I really like how this place has been going :-)

I've been around - since before windows and every release we get the same people saying the same crap about windows - how it sucks, how it will never sell or take off, etc etc. There has only been two windows release duds - WinME and Windows Vista - which they eventually fixed via service packs. Windows 8 will be better than all the previous releases and the Metro UI will grow on people over time. Not everyone will like it but it will succeed.
  21. Broken drain pipe from the desal plant for sure.
  22. I had the car booked in to fix the drag link and then for them to do a complete inspection - Which is where they found the other issues. They dont have the time nor parts to fix the caster today - But I need the rest done as I have a long trip planned very soon, so need the car back. Once i return from the trip I will book it in again for the rest.. PITA, but meh - its the best I can do.
  23. Sweet.. I have a mounting spot for it (directly in front of the IC) - However I also need to know what heater pipes to intercept.
  24. I really question the use of battery isolators - especially if the second battery is used for small loads like fridges, lights etc. If you have a second battery thats say at 50% charge and you start the engine, the isolator will 'join' or 'short' both batteries together in parallel causing high current to flow from starter/alternator to the second battery. The two batteries will eventually equalise in charge if left in this state but I cannot see this as being anywhere near ideal conditions for the second battery. IMHO a DC/DC charger - like the redarc 1220 or 1240 or the ctek Dual 250S is a much much better way to charge the second battery. Not only does it completly eliminate the massive current that would be involved but it also boosts the voltage to ideal charging levels. In the case of the ctek it also manages battery temperature with respect to charge current. Thoughts? Edit: If the main purpose of your second battery is to winch where you join both batteries via a relay then use of an isolator is completly valid.
