XROX bar on a GUIV?
Bigrig77, they look good on Series 1,2,3 but not 4 or later as far as I can see and for the price, I can get a Millweld with a highmount mount

Jacket has bought another one.
Is it at least 6.6L?

XROX bar on a GUIV?
Russ, they are pretty good, but they don't really seem up to the task for me. No highmount, flimsy tubed wings that bolt on. There is an improvement in approach angle but I don't think its significant enough over my standard bar. Plus, I'm not really conviced of the look on a GUIV from the few photos I have seen on the Opposite Lock website.

XROX bar on a GUIV?
That's alright mate, I've been reading the insurance PDSs and some legislation and one thing that I noticed is that the insurance company cannot refuse your claim for having an unroadworthy vehicle if the item that causes your car to be unroadworthy didn't contribute to the claim. I'm not sure how it is possible for a non airbag compliant bullbar to contribute to a claim. An airbag always goes of as a result of an incident and therefore is a supplimentary support and cannot contribute. It's kind of like not having working window winders, not likely to contribute to an incident but is unroadworthy. Might have a chat to Millweld and see if they can custom fab up a different hoop design.

Cheap Tricks - DIY Mods and accessories for under $50
GU MAP LIGHT TO DOOR SWITCH Locate the red wire with black stripe (not gray stripe) on the centre light as its the door switch. You need to run a length of wire from this to the front. I just run it on top of the roof trim. Then solder the diodes (i used two, to make sure they wouldn't burn out) onto the top tag on the switches and join to the wire from the door switch wire. DIODES ARE DIRECTIONAL make sure they are running the correct way (note: the silver stripe around one end)

Cheap Tricks - DIY Mods and accessories for under $50
I like my little projects, so how about sharing for everyone else. Let us know what those small little things you do to improve your Patrol are. Let's get it started: + EGR Blocking plate Materials - Scrap stainless sheet (thicker than paper) and some Ultra Grey or similar sealant. Cost $5 + GU front interior lights wired up so they light up when the doors are open like the middle and rear lights Materials - Wire and diodes (diodes are needed otherwise when you go to turn on one light and they all turn on (found out while driving at night, bit dazzling)). Cost $2 (can recycle diodes and wire from old electronics (TV's, etc)) + Second glovebox I used - Free old 1mm thick aluminum road sign folded into a box, piano hinge and a few screws and pop riverts. Cost $5. I had the road sign, but you could use wood, sheet metal (colourbond), old plastic drill cases if you can melt them to fit, etc + Diff breathers - Old vacuum/fuel hose, fuel filters for small motorbike, zip ties Cost $5 + Glovebox light - LED lights and an old car door light switch, some wire and a couple screws and zip ties. Cost less than $20 if you shop around.

XROX bar on a GUIV?
They are ok, personally I don't see them as practical though, can't fit my XGTs in the hoop (refuse to mount above as IMO it looks shithouse) and they are not airbag compliant.

Forum item requests?
Oh, one more thing, quite important to the authenticity of this forum, the picture of the 4 cars above the MyPATROL4x4 heading, well the Silver one third from the left needs to be removed. It's not a Patrol, its an Isuzu DMAX, Snorkel is on the drivers side, intercooler scoop is wrong, head lights wrong, bullbar wrong, etc.

XROX bar on a GUIV?
Just wondering if anyone has a picture of an XROX bar on a GUIV or later Patrol? They look pretty good on the I, II, III series, but not so sure they look any good on the GUIV as per the picture on Opposite Lock's website.

We all know the Mods are doing everything they can, but they cannot do it all without Terry, if they do, without Terry's approval something dodgy went down. The Mods on P4x4 are good people, they are trying their hardest and should be praised as such, but there is only so much that can be done. Don't get me wrong, I want to see P4x4 restored to its glory, there is just soo much info in there I refer to all the time, but their abilities are limited.
