  1. I think the big problem here is if you lose your smartphone (or someone nicks it). You probably have it synching your mail with your gmail account, and now they have your gmail username, AND your phone for the SMS part of it.
  2. i cant find any reference to documentation about it, so I guess you are correct in what you say. You'll have to gather all of your positives and all of your negatives into 2 bunches and connect them to the red and black wires on one side of the meter. The other side of the meter will connect to the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
  3. Can somebody explain the spill line mod for me. What is the purpose, and is it relevant to 4.2's.
  4. I had a 2000 3L wagon which I thought had heaps of go. I then bought a 2002 td4.2t and it was a slug but I wanted the reliability. After quite a few k's in the 4.2 I upgraded the turbo, added a very average intercooler and got the injector pump serviced. It now pulls like a train and I would be surprised if a 3L was any better. There is heaps you can do on a td42 to make it better and you always have the confidence that the underlying engine is rock solid. This is definitely not true with either DI3L or the CRD3L.

I put toughdog 45mm adjustables in the rear late last year and love them. My rig is a gu ute and we carry a slideon camper so I put the shocks on level 3 when the camper is on and back to level 1 when its off. Makes a huge difference in comfort and control. I had OME shocks all round before and they were absolutely stuffed, now the missus can read the map without getting carsick (the other female mapreading issues still exist unfortunately)
  6. FWIW I have had a redarc battery isolator solenoid in my truck for about 4 years and it played up about a year ago. it was contacting intermittently for a while so i finally pulled it apart and cleaned the solenoid contacts, all good again. Now I notice that very occasionally it doesnt contact if the truck is stationary but the vibration when moving solves it. I discussed this with a redarc sales guy at the Sydney camping show recently and he mentioned that the new solenoids monitor the contact resistance and retry if necessary to get a good contact. When I finally get to replace it I think I'll be looking for an electronic unit like dc-dc converter instead.
  7. i think they've moved the fuel tank forward?
