Yeah, that looks good, I thought as soon as I saw it that a arb switch would fit, I'll see what Andrew will do for me, see if I can get an e-locker for a try

Try the e-locker, at least then you'll know how well, or not, it works. Afterall, you're only going to sell the Patrol anyway, so it'll provide a good test bed for future.

Cheers

I know. . . . its really tempting. but iv never had an issue with the ARB airlocker, iv had 3 versions, and i crash locked them all.

only thing making me want to use the Eaton is the fact i can say iv done it. truth is im completely happy with the arb.

still undecided. iv got a quote in my hand from Andrew. . . its underwhelming price isnt a winner. . . $1500 just for the locker! if it was $900 i would just do it. . . but its more! and im not sure that the Eaton is more recognized/desirable to the resale market than the ARB. lol, decisions.

The last time I saw the price for the e-locker and ARB, they were pretty much on par, when you added the compressor price to the ARB (that's the baby compressor), plus the fitting of the air lines etc. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Cheers

Try a quote from another place, I got told they were alot cheaper the other day, as in under a grand, but that may have been cost price. Also from what I'm told they are a lot easier to install.

Bought some bits today :D , still getting ready for the build.

Iv decided to go with the ARB airlocker again  , im not sure why, it was an honest 50/50 either way, but i had to get the build done at 2 shops if i went with Eaton. . . easy to just do one shop build because of the forum trip being so close. Sad excuse i know, and ill still try to do an Eaton one day soon.

So anyway, here's what i got sorted today.

Paid for Front ARB airlocker Here's whats in the box..

One drivers seatbelt!

Underneath, years of sweat, snacks-dropped-on-shirt partially-on-seatbelt, essence of previous owner, and crud from dirty hands.

Use this, or other spray cleaner(probably not the best idea using Armourall etc since its oily and dust will stick to it re-creating the issue)

post-140-0-43905000-1338362757_thumb.jpg

Spray here.

Allow a Minuit to soak, then use old toothbrush or the like to get Gunk out. Hold seatbelt out of the way conveniently as in above photo like this.

This side is the problem side. . . . and the radiator support is a double skin design. . . . . perfect for rust. lol, im not sure why Nissan do it.
