I think most will eventually come across.espically in august when the domain is experied. But its hard to find this place with google. I used the link.

What happens if the other one closers,.and you google a patrol question. Will it still come up with patrol4x4 posts or could all that be lost for ever after??

Google will cache a search result but it site or domain no longer exists you will probly just get a site cannot be found error.

I've never seen any polls on any forum using tapatalk. Thought it was just me but might just be a tapatalk thing.

well there are over 50,000 members on patrol4x4 so certainly at least 1000 will come here. There is however nissanpatrol.com.au, can't see a lot of patrol4x4 members liking that though

There is no doubt many members will cling to the old site by their fingernails till the thing has sunk, is dead and buried and cremated for good measure.

There seems to be an unusual dedication to what is just a website and in technical terms, a far from outstanding one.

IF it survives, great, if not, personally I can't see it as any great loss. All the info there can be passed on by people joining this site so what's the difference?

AS for the 50K members on the other site, I gaurantee you they would be lucky to have 1000 active members or proabably even that many people that have logged on in the last 12 months. Members is always a hollow and inflated number.

It's also apparent that the other site would be burning through members at a prolific rate with all the recent troubles.

I don't think the numbers of members is as important as the quality and knowledge level of the people that make up a forum.

I've had enough of the other one - patience is completely exhausted. I can handle the viruses, but being locked out is pretty much the same as the forum owner telling everyone to piss off.

When (if) eventually we can log in again, I intend to copy whatever worthwhile stuff I've posted and delete all the rest, if that's possible.

While we dont have a swear word filter (yet!) - I ask that you use those words wisely.. And not for the sake of using them. You never know, a carefully phrased swear word here and there might just enhance this place - But willy nilly use of the f word will surely get it filtered.

I had a look there a few weeks ago.

The mentality that prevails makes me laugh.

Seems they are so concerned with being loyal to a website they were trying to talk up something they inherently didn't like with the take over of the forum and the changes made.

Also seemed real funny that out of all the people that said they wanted to buy the site, the Founder sold it to an American concern. That ought have hurt a few of the die hards.

I don't think one day of being down will change much there or bring many over here.

I'm glad of that.
