  1. Boiled the motor again. Off to the mechanic Monday to explain that the bubbles in the radiator did in fact require the "performance rebuild" option.
  2. California girls the Beach Boys
  3. Congrats Glort. I am happy for you and also relieved. I saw the title and thought you had wasted your $$$ on a poxy bloody Land Rover. I did martial arts for many years and understand what you mean about some of the mass builders having no stamina.......Sometimes to a sad level. That level of "fitness" is , to me, like a Pro-Stock drag car. Awesome for 400m, but then its spent. The other side of the coin is a person like me that thought that I was invincible but now suffers the effects of bad training techniques (mainly over-training). It sounds like you have found the perfect midway point. Bugger all exercise, yard work and a bit of relaxation. An old mate of mine likes to take his grand kids for a walk, they walk for miles. He has built up over a few years and now has enough grand kids, that when he wears one out, he walks it home and gets another. Last I heard, he was up to about 15km per day. Got some grand kids?
  4. Is beer a juice?
  5. A good place to Dremmel and fit something useful.
  6. Hi mate. Welcome aboard
  7. Even more fun would have been to stop the Troll levele with his nose, get out, lock it up and go for a cuppa somewhere
  8. Hurry up, you can be number 3 in our "pushbike club"
  9. "Has a small hairline crack in bottom hole. Does not affect performance." Sounds like my ex wife lol
  10. WOOO HOOO. Lets start a club. You can be number 2, cos I hit one in about 1992. I had a choice of hitting a Mack tipper or a pushbike. Self preservation took over lol. The more we hit, the less will be on the road.......Call it culling of the stupid
  11. Cool, thanks guys
  12. Castrol vmx is the only oil that my gearbox likes. I have crappy notchy shifts and cant use second gear when the box is cold if i use any thing else. Even mega expensive Nulon and additives make it worse. Just straight vmx80 ffs
  13. So after a week of testing, the Landcrab snorkel top is pre cleaning really well. After following a semi for about 80km on a dirt road, the dust in my air cleaner was minimal and I have more power than I did with thw Donaldson .
  14. I have a set of King Springs "comfort" 2" in the front with a factory steel bar, winch, spotties and will soon be going to scrub bars and steel steps. The comfort springs are overloaded now with a 1" spacer in the top to keep it level. I have 2" King heavy duty in the rear with coilrites. What are your opinions on the best springs for comfort in the front of my troll? I am mainly doing large KMs on bitumin and dirt ATM so flex is not a major issue, I want the best ride that I can get. I have EFS Elite shocks all round.
  15. I have been running a Donaldson http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PRE-CLEANER-DONALDSON-3-76mm-/150830638091?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231e34e40b and I think that it's a bit restrictive for the 3.0l turbo. It filters heaps of dust and bug wings but makes a hell of a racket (actualy sounds pretty cool). I have changed it for one that I swiped off of a 75 series 4.2l Landcrab. Will this be big enough. It sounds awesome

  17. Hmmm, mine is a 2003, I had to stretch the crap out of the spring and then wind it right in. A quarter turn on the needle is enuff to send the boost into the stratosphere. I will get a vac gauge one day and measure it.
  18. EGR puts black crap through your inlet manifold and helps to block your throttle body with carbon. The black crap dries and hardens and will eventually need to be removed. Your oil also gets dirty much quicker and loses its cleaning ability. Mine is blocked with a thin plate that is pretty well invisible although I have the pcv blowing out of a garden hose under the motor since my home made catch can fell to bits lol. (I will fix it soon.....Honest) The turbo will spool up a bit quicker with the plate installed but its easy to adjust with the needle valve to get spool where you want it. I am running 4psi at 100kmh and getting around 10.5 l per 100km with a roof rack and all manner of gear in the back.
  19. I have never heard of that but some of the other members might be able to help. As far as I know all of the pre CRD motors use the same Dawes/needle valve set up with an exhaust blanking plate.
  20. Tip the acid out , hose the cells out and replace the acid. You might get a bit more time lol
