I started this place as a Patrol Technical Discussion forum - *Anything* that diverts attention from that is not welcome here. To this effect I have completly removed the Political Crappery Section. Anyone posting anything political anywhere here now will find there posts deleted.

Right you lot - Quit it. This is a patrol forum first and foremost. As Ive said before in the forum rules, there is NO POINT trying to convince each other of your oposing views. Im going to close the political section - This place is for patrol technical discussion and any thing off topic that leads to arguements is simply diltuting the good knowledge that this place contains.

Yeah, I think you can find similar on ebay cheaper. The jaycar units are very small thou - Neat.

yeah.. Thou, my motivations were two fold.. First was as you say, to give them somewhere to go (and bloody hell, they nearly needed it) and the second was I saw it as an opportunity.. It wasnt completly selfless

I was in a similar situ - I started walking of the morning - 8km.. Totally changes your attidude for the rest of the day.. Makes you happier or somthing.. I stopped cause im a lazy turd, but i need to get back into it.

To be honest I was surprised they didnt ban me earlier.. under normal circumstances it would be bad form to try and poach users, but I dont think what I did was normal circumstances.. Their site was failing with even the admins admitting they had no contact with the owner and had been locked out, so I figured it was fair game. You on the otherhand didnt start a competing forum, but sometimes it did seem like you worked for this place :-P

Yeah, I understand that, what I was getting at is that they have no responsibility either way - They can remove you or keep you - They have no obligation to keep the comments and I would bet they have no obligation to remove them either. You posted them into a public forum at that point the control of those comments ceased to be in your control. Thou, I suppose you could argue that its not a public forum, being that membership is required. It sounds like you know a bit about patrols and have written a fair bit of technical info over there as you have done here. Im sure they have just banned us because prior to now, they had no control at all. They have it back now and need to release a bit of built up frustration. hehe.

Like I said in another topic, no point starting a war... there are no winners. Personally I disagree with your view. Its their site, they can do what they like. They have no obligation to you to keep your work online. It costs them money in hosting, time, technology, licenses etc... They can shut the site down tommorrow if they like or change it or start fresh etc etc.. There aint nothing you can do about it.
