I dont mind gueniune reccommendations - If someone asks, or if you write a tutorial - Like the how to fit the EGT sensor tutorial.. I dont mind that at all. But putting links in signatures or just posting stuff like 'Hey, I found this cheap thing at joes widgets' - that sort of stuff isnt on.. Hopefully thats fair.

Ray, not sure what caused your editing issues... It seems OK here - But im only writing simple posts. If you have problems again, delete everything in the post and paste it back in as text and see how you go at editing it. Its all I can suggest. (what browser do you use?) Everyone else: To upload images when replyingclick 'MORE REPLY OPTIONS' and you should see the attach files option..

When you paste, use the paste as text button - Its the second from the right button in the editor toolbar. Pasting preformatted text from other sites will make it hard for the editor to work out.. Pasting as plain text will make things easier. Note with images: If your images are hosted at 4x4patrol.com then you really need to save the image and then upload it here - Cause if they dissapear so will your image. I not Ray's images seem to be hosted externally - Which is why his method of coping the image URL works. Usually I would reccommend people upload the images direct to this forum to ensure they image link never breaks. If you upload your images to say photobucket and then use the URL here, the images will one day dissapear from the other site and that will cause broken image links here and anywhere else you have used the image - So its always best to upload them direct to here to ensure they never dissapear.

On the home page - Not sure - I would need to look into this, however there is a VIEW NEW CONTENT button towards the top right of the pages (its red) - It will show you new content (forums) or members or classifieds. You can view either unread stuff, last 24 hours etc etc

Yeah, it does sound like a bit of a Koo. To stay on the moral high ground thou, I would prefer if people brought over their own content only. If enough of you guys did that, this place would be rocking in no time.

I would like the members to vote - At the moment we have State based SubCategories in the General Technical Section. Some members have expressed this is a bad idea and that if the State based SubCategories should be anywhere its in the General Section. What say you?

The projecta has a beautiful little display - :-) Im a sucker for a bit of a nice display. You wont be dissapointed.. It even connects to your headlight signal (which you can get from the back of the radio) and it will dim the display at night so it doesnt blind you.

I put up separate donation goals as the costs for each were separate - and they were incurred at different times.. Most appreciated thou :-)

First of all - Please dont pay out those two donation's - There are more than enough people around to spread the cost out - I would rather a lot of people throw in a few bucks each than a small handful fork out stacks.. That would be crazy. To answer your questions.. 1. No. I will attempt to explain. Any sort of site like this needs to be owned - Either by an individual or as some sort of company structure. These places DON'T exist out of the kindness of peoples hearts. What I can say is that a place like this should have financial benifits for its owner - afterall a lot of bloody effort goes in to a place like this. As ive explained elsewhere, this can be from direct donations, small 'Premium' Memberships, advertising, vendors sections etc. Dont think for a minute that a place can run by a community - It cant and wont happen. Greed is the enemy here. Someone will always want control. Infact, I think if you wait long enough, those who 'want control' over 4x4patrol.com will eventually either fail or succeed. either way, it will be owned/controlled by someone, that has their interests at heart, not yours. 2. I have offered the mods over at 4x4patrol similar positions here (specifically oldmav) - As moderators. If they decline and this place warrants having extra moderators then yes, I will appoint them based on who I think is responsible enough to keep this place going. Note, however that just like patrol4x4 they will be moderators, not owners, not co owners, not shareholders, not anything - other than moderators. I can add that as long as this place remains viable - That is - I can make money from either donations, premium memberships, advertising, vendors etc then I will keep this place going. With 30000 members like patrol4x4 has got this should NOT be a problem. Should we get anywhere near that then this place will live on! I have said in earlier posts that I will give this place 24 odd months to build momentum while I absorb the costs - Either it takes off or it doesnt. If it doesnt, I have no qualms in people taking their own posts elsewhere. I cant be any more fair, upfront or honest than that.

With regards to a legal fix - I think they are kidding themselves.. Its Terry's forum (so were told), and if he doesnt want anything to do with it and dosnt want to part with it, then no one else has any right to take it away from him... He owns it - full stop. I cannot see any legal way to take the forum unless he is willing - If he is not then its immoral and basic theft. While I understand people have an attachment to the place and have invested time moderating or participation, that doesnt give them legal ownership. Its like one of you trying to take this place from me.. Without my permission, there is basically stuff all you can do.
