  1. I surely prefer look of this forum, the 4x4.com one is like Windows 95 and this like OSX Lion, lol (Ain't fan of either OS, that is) The competing patrol.com.au site is just so confusing with so much eye candy and crazy layout that I'm lost there. The extra option to manage your account here are also a bonus. Cheer
  2. I have same problem now, I sign in on my laptop and get the mobile version and can't get it back to normal now so is there any way the forum software would actually allow to change the mode or am I stuck in this mode now because I choosen that mode on my Android phone when I was testing it.Cheers
  3. Absolutely love the look of the mobile version on Android's Opera mini just perfect. To get it you need to make a change in the theme bottom LHS corner of the main page is the option. No need for Tapatalk crap. Cheers
  4. LOL Curent statistics from *nissanpatrol forum --> 291 members and 1885 guests * 4x4patrol forum ---> 41 members and 139 guests *this one ----> 3 members, 1 guests We are getting there ....... Cheers
  5. Just checked the site again, it is/will be going down anytime from now to be rebuilt/cleaned/updated/migrated to something better. Geez, take your time fellas. Cheers
  6. What do you mean:warning points? Cheers
  7. Try this link looks very interesting ..... http://www.nissanpat...ght=bash+plates Apparently there will be delay of somesorta due to moving to different premises, maybe giving him a call might sort something out. Its called "hardnose" and "hardcase" it looks very well made, I'm interested too. Also check out the pics and video on the last page of the thread, Cheers
  8. Yeah, we seem to atract the scammers as well, already. I had a look for the members signing up and geez there are weird logins. Keep up the good work.
  9. They're increasingly getting desperate as it appears that the owner is not cooperating (possibly because the costs are now balooning) so the mods are doing their best manually cleaning the code as fast as they can and going nowhere with it. It does look hopeless and more and more people are getting infected. Scammers/Spammer must love the site now. Those forum members who complain are being shouted down: "to go elsewhere if they don't like it". Not very nice attitude. I don't know what is involved with migrating a databases of that magnitude but surely it doesn't take a rocket science to redirect the site to a new upgraded version on temporary basis (perhaps here) and than migrate the databases over as well. Cheers
  10. I'm not familiar with forum software but I don't think "it was infected again". The infection was still there because the fundamental underlying issue is still present: the forum software which is vulnerable and hasn't been updated. If the owners wanted to have it fixed it would've happened 3 weeks ago. Firstly by shutting it down, scrubbing the databases clean and migrating the whole lot on to something better and more secure. Something is fishy with that site ownership and the members are not being told the full story. Cheers
  11. Anyone has got ideas how to make this forum more populated, it would be a shame if it was laid to waste. Spread the word.... Cheers
  12. Handy if one hasn't got a tension wrench with dual scales. Cheers
  13. Last weekend I managed to get away for an awesome trip to Merna Mora station. Weather was magic if not a bit too warm at the times but still nice and warm at night. Thoroughly recommend to anyone. Tracks are not free but well worth the money, one can spend all day there on just one track twisting ascending and descending with absolutely amazing views. There are four tracks to choose from including an epic 100 km one to shores of Lake Torrens which I didn't do due to not having enough time, oh well an excuse to return. Not to mention the rest of the Flinders is only a short distance away. Cheers

I wouldn't worry about it, slowly does it perhaps, I have a feeling that the infection will never be fixed and the forum will eventually shutdown. What really peeves me of is that perhaps the admin at that site could migrate all of the data minus the malware over here for a back up and temporary home until the original site is restored. Perhaps original owners is simply not interested and the mods aren't willing to admit it. It is a shame. I'd prefer .com.au domain anyway and perhaps this one will eventually succeed the other one. Cheers
  15. As long as you use ethylene glycol based coolant you can use any. Avoid the latest fancy mixes. Nissan coolant is just plain ethylene glycol and water mix. Cheers

I have a feeling that the influx (LOL, if there ever was one) of Patrol4x4.com members have stopped as the mods at that site deleted the thread/s pointing to this site. All too quick to delete as not to upset the forum owner who couldn't bother with the site due to personal reason but now the malware is still running a mock, and no one is interested. I wish if someone could figure out how to re mirror entire site. Cheers Edit: Link to this site is still up so I'd guessed people are happy with the malware running rampant.
  17. I'd do one at the time, it is a PITA if diff turns, wheels off to have a space and support chassis to be safe, if keeping on wheels than just use chassis stands to get the weight off a bit. Cheers
  18. Just need a lot of patience and plenty of lube. With tie rod ends watch for toe-in/toe-out adjustment as it can easily go out, measure before and after. Don't just rely on "how many turns" it takes to remove the end. Use "Neverseez" type lubricant on threads as well. Cheers
  19. Logos are nice, just be vary of the trade mark Nissan has on its logo, you don't want to start on the wrong foot here. So perhaps the Nissan™ logo needs a slight change to be safe. Cheers

Thanks for setting this up, perhaps as a back up maybe even fully Patrol4x4.com mirrored site. I'd sure hate to see all the information collected over the years going down the drain. Cheers
