  1. Hi there Chris, looking forward to your contributions Cheers

Welcome and make yourself @ home here.
  3. Without sounding like I agree with you Ray That dwelling is anything but ecological/sustainable. For start how much energy is used to manufacture the glass in the first place? Of course it is mere green delusion as is everything else bout the green movement. I remember a story about a Sydney person who built completely self sufficient, low energy requirement house and spent 5 years in courts defending his rights to have it. Sued by the council/government and state utilities as they feared that if everyone started building dwellings like that they'd put out of business. This whole eco/green/sustainable is a crook of chit and utter hypocrasy when it comes from the gubermnint and power utilities. Cheers
  4. Grenaded Zd30 I suppose. Cummins ISB 5.9-ner time.......
  5. If you gonna set up this in ZD30 engine, I'd be interested on the progress. Cheers
  6. I've checked the truck over and changed every fluid in every unit, I'm sorta rolling maintenance guy so e.g. no point for me removing front hubs to check/regrease bearings as I had those apart 6 months prior....I check brakes every 5K when I rotate tyres.....I grease the uni joints and check the shafts randomly every 3 months, anything else my attitude is "if it ain't broke don't touch it" and fix what fails right away. Cheers
  7. I still like this forum and surprise surprise we've proven that we can have intelligent debate instead posting rubbish. I just hope Dronus is going to finnish his DIY threads. Keep up the good work fellas. Cheers
  8. Replaced rusted bull bar indicators/clearence combo lights with LED unit , much better now Cheers
  9. I got them this morning from OzLED in Melbourne, they don't look exactly the same as the ones on Dronus's rig exactly (no chrome bezel ) . They do stand apart and work the treat. I couldn't however bring myself to solder the wires so proper weatherproof connectors were in the order. Anyone wants/need spare second hand OEM indicator/clearence lights covers? Cheers Edit: for those who have fitted these ligths and find the main headligths parkers too yellow you can get replacement LED T10 wedge type from Jaycar part # ZD-0394 cheaper than from fleabay or else.
  10. Speaking of batteries, had to charge the primary one today, still the original since new it does look like I might have to look for a new one. The thermal ABR cover mentioned, how much and where from as my secondary battery is a second one to fail so far, perhaps sitting on the hot side is not helping. Cheers
  11. Geez, I'm after exactly the same thing that part # would make the life easier..... Cheers Edit: I had a look at their entire catalog and as far as I can tell from it, those lights have part # 175AW. Dronus are you sure the mounting holes spacing is exactly the same?
  12. Excellent, I've been trying to kick my lazy ass to do something like that for ages. Now I've got the instruction perhaps no more excuses. Cheers
  13. In the simplest form I always thought that more boost = more fuel = more power not to mentioned these things are directly related so less boost = less fuel = less power on the opposite side of the spectrum. Cheers
  14. I'll be watching this with interest as my beast is not fuel friendly with high boost. It just guzzles fuel at higher boost while cruising on the highway so I've scaled it back from 17.5 psi (I had it going to limp mode as well at 100 and accelerating) down to 14 psi. Admittedly I'm using single Dawes/needle valve combo so there is no option to lower the settings for me when cruising at 100 clicks so boost would climb up and sit at 14-16 psi depending on wind load etc. hence the fuel consumption. I might have to reconsider installing another Dawes valve and dual stage solenoid to economize a bit. I'm not sold on fiddling with VNT actuator adjustment trying to control the max spool rate and peak boost. Cheers

I use Linux because I refuse to submit to the rule corporations and theirs EULAs and SLAs no matter how much they try. I simply don't agree so what are my choices? None so to speeak when it comes to these so called leaders in software development so I use the software made by the people who have nothing better to do in their spare time . Underlying tech is still a crud and pathetic mess no matter what. The future MS® and Apple megalomaniacs envisage is where they fully control what one can do or use while the users are paying through to nose for the privilege. No, thanks. I prefer the choice and freedom to use the computing my way....and on my terms! So I don't particularly care what W8 looks like TBH, I just laugh when I see/read the responses to the "new directions" OS interface. The idiots from Redmont have been at it before, "Vista" debacle anyone. Cheers
  16. +1 one on the Android version. These tablets with expansion ports are definitely the go over restricted "gizPads" just look for the better specced units. Cheers
  17. I'm running coolant temp at 99° alarm only as I fail to see how setting an alarm for anything else ECUTalk displays is worthwhile to bother with. Sure oil pressure or EGT would be high on my list but none of those is actually displayed. With the boost you'll know when ECU cuts the fuel. Cheers
  18. It depends what your budget is. Surely you can't complain that $49 el cheapo tablet doesn't perform the way you might be expecting (that is as your full size laptop with i5 processor and 8 GB RAM....does.) It will not run MS® ware for sure. Comparing it with Apples (pun intended) is also silly. These things (tablets) are gimmicks the same as the netbooks were a few years before all the rage. There is nothing wrong with Android OS and indeed is pretty much easy to use. The second link is essentially a netbook in the tablet packaging with familiar operating system but still nothing spectacular. As long as this is just going to complement your existing computer/s none of these unit will actually replace the full blown laptop/PC/Mac. Keep that in mind when choosing. Cheers
  19. Guys with ECUTalk display units, anyone had success changing which sensors are displayed? Cheers Edit: Never mind, I just found out that it is fixed by a firmware, bugger.
  20. Finally plugged in the ECUtalk box. Anyone knows how to get more/different sensors to display and wtf is "ICV percentage" for? Cheers
  21. Any mechanic who attempts to straighten ANY steering component should be shot on the spot! Apart from emergency repairs to get you home/back to civilasation bent/damaged steering linkage should be replaced immediately. I for one would not like to be passing you on the highway at 100 kays when the track rod or drag link on your vehicle decides that it had enough and expires while you taking a bent. Now you have a decent car get the decent drag link and track rod fitted. Replace the damaged/bent drag link or track rod ASAP. I'm sure that "little precious" is worth the extra expense. Cheers
  22. Yeah I wish but unfortunately I've got too many things to catch up on with this weekend so sorry I can't make it . Be sure to let us know how was it there I hope you guys will have a ball. Cheers
  23. Managed to start and drive the thing after a month off being overseas...now I'm hearing all sorts of noises which I don't remember being there before lol Cheers
  24. Mine 05 Di hovers around 11.3-12.7 L city/open road driving and around 13 L on highway cruising at 100-110 km/h with ARB deluxe full size roof rack. Cheers
