  1. Yeah I wondered the same this morning, geez I wish I went to the Lake before as now I feel it will totally be restricted and/or to pay a small fortune for the opportunity. I'm totally opposed to private land ownership at such scale as such. ( having your house built on a decent lot and whatnot is reasonable) but to allow an/the individual/s to claim huge tracts of land because some sort of a notion "we were there first" or "we care for land" or "we have spiritual connection" or whatever excuses/reasons will be used to get something which stood for millions of years without teh individuals input/effort is plainly wrong, immoral and perverted. There goes another piece of Oz. This can all happen because the flawed notion of "land ownership" in our societies. Cheers
  2. I'd go but I'm in the US now so a little inconvenient at this stage for me. Cheets
  3. I do like visual style and ability to use smart phone browsing on this forum. P4x4 and its problems are not mine cup of tea however I do feel disappointed that all that great info can be lost due to someone having personal issues. It is a shame really. I'm a member on several Patrol forums and don't see the need bagging one over another. Cheers
  4. I just modded mine auto hubs to be manual only in about ten minutes and never looked back. Cheers
  5. You don't wanna know, I'm not sure what is it know but it set me back at $1300. Ouch. Cheers
  6. I might look at FAAS pumps while there that seems more appealing to me but not the price. Thanks for info and pics (incl from SA). Cheers
  7. Haven't seen one Patrol yet, plenty of Volvos lol. Did see the Jeep though. Chicks are gorgeous but they do stare back at you and not in the polite way so don't wanna end up as Julian (Asange) being done for visual r*pe. Heading to good ol States in couple of days hopefully more friendly over there. Cheer
  8. Great info, have you sourced the pump from the States? I'm heading there next so there might be a opportunity for me to get the hands on the good gear without paying Oz tax. Cheers
  9. While I don't wanna sound like a tight arse I do appreciate this forum's native capability to be viewed on the smart phone with ease. Currently being in rainy Sweden it helps heaps to able to do it without 3rd party paid apps as I have no use for such things otherwise. My only wish is that other sites have similar native option. This one of the reasons this forum gets my tick of approval. Cheers
  10. Damn I'll take #6. Cheers
  11. Looking good mate, congrat on becoming uncle. Cheers
  12. Wow, have been overseas for a couple of weeks now and missed all the action of many people enrolling en masse. Cheers
  13. Plenty more but I'm currently overseas so hang on for couple of weeks. Cheers
  14. Depending who you ask 2.8 is rather underpowered and since it is high revving engine it suffers from low down torque or lack thereof. Turbo lag is also an issue. Its alloy head is a constant problem as are high maintenance requirements. My summary as follow: TD42 - old lump of iron but dependable but at the same token the age is its drawback. RD28 - excellent but wacky ideas and money pit for the owners ZD30 - the one night stand between the French and Jap produced the ugley offspring noone wants. It is official than Nissan is unable to design and produce decent Diesel engine. Cheers
  15. I'd check for loose panhard rod/bushes I have a what appears a grinding noise when turning left and slowing down/coming to a stop at the same time. At first I was concerned but now after checking everything and not finding a thing I am waiting for the failure to happen. Cheers
  16. It would be better to actually change the fuel filter after you've drained the water from it and tested/confirmed that the engine light doesn't come on anymore as well Cheers.

Only if you are changing the rims as well, otherwise no. Mine are 17" stock alloys. Remember lowest point on the rim is easier to establish than center of the hub and since the rim is centered on the hub you've got perfect reference point. Tyre deflection is not taken in to account since the floor/ground height to the rim is not considered. Cheers

OK buying OME for that much is crazy, IMHO. I've got Tough Dog 2" lift constant load 200 kg at rear and winch rated front springs and 41 mm foam cell shockers for around a grand mark (friendly 4WD store owner not fitted). Castor correction kit I didn't bother to fit and I'm so happy I didn't, Trol rides perfect, got rid off the dreaded "pull to the left" and "dreadful wobbles" at 80-90 km/h as well. While I don't know for sure I'm led to believe that OME lift is only 30 mm (not 2"= 52 mm). I strongly urge you to try the lift without castor correction bushes first to see what has changed. You can always get them later and I'm sure most wheel aligning places would fit them cheaper than ARB thieves. Bastards are also not telling you that sway bar links need to extended (to bring them back down level) and rear brakes proportioning valve bracket needs to be altered (read lifted upwards so the lever is aligned correctly) otherwise you'll have shitty rear brakes. If your truck has non adjustable draglink you may also find that steering wheel will be off center as well. Cheers Measurements original springs on mine: front 747-761 mm, rear 759-763 mm. from bottom of the rim to the bottom of the guard ( thats how it is measured, not from hub center )
  19. Next question would be than how long ago have you fitted the NADS, and did you ever cleaned the intake? Cheers
  20. I've got a question in regards to the engine rebuilt, are you getting OEM pistons or OEM rebuilt kit again or aftermarket HD/forged whatever they call them? I'd appreciate if you could upload a close up photo of the piston in question. Also given the distance traveled is/are the injection pump and injectors going to be rebuilt/serviced. I've been watching this ZD30 grenading with interest for a while as I'm trying to see correlation between either the cheap skate parts used during the production or fuel system contributing heavily to this failures. It seems like the cooling system design doesn't help either given that most failure occur at no.3 or n.4 piston. Cheers
  21. Thanks for that. Cheers

I was only referring to host it here as originally suggested on temp basis. Not implying there was a problem with hosting arrangement. By the same token if it this valuable than one ought to take care of it, forum that is. Cheers

I had a dig around what it takes to change a forum hosting company and found interesting posts on patrol.com.au forum in this regards when they did it, it seems that it took just 2 days to change over for them including transferring the stuff, some headaches as always but overall it was doable and the site was down only for 2 hours. That brings the question of patrol4x4 back and proves the point of no interest and also unwillingness to hand it over to someone else (don't think it is sentimental value more like actually making the money of it for little input/work) so it can be fixed/improved. Pretty pathetic indeed. Cheers
  24. looks like it is working for ya. To turn on mobile version see bottom left link on the home/main page be warned though you can't change back to full version again it is a bug in the forum software. Cheers
