  1. Well I use f/fox which has this anti tracker addon called Ghostery among others and one wouldn't believe what sort of chit some website are up to. Check this out --> http://lifehacker.co...ow-to-stop-them Cheers Edit: What is really funny that the very website advising/giving advice how to avoid tracking itself uses 11 trackers on said page. Pretty pathetic.
  2. Whenever you splash brake fluid on something always wash off with water/detergent/water promptly don't be tempted to wipe off with a rag. On tyres it is OK, concern is on plastic and painted surfaces. Cheers
  3. LOL, classic mistakes, you need to suck a half of the reservoir out before starting to push the cylinders back in order to be able to fit new pads and not having master cylinder reservoir overflowing than simply top up or not as required afterwards. In your case use a syringe to empty extra fluid till on full mark than use the extracted fluid as very effective anti-rust freeing liquid/solution. (not on the painted surface, lol) Those squeek shims are they clipped on the pads? Or just sitting there between the pad and the cylinder? If so did you use copper based paste to stick the shim to the pad? Otherwise you gonna have squeeking brakes soon at light pedal application soon, very annoying as you're reversing out of the driveway in the morning. Cheers
  4. Look Ray at a risk of agreeing with you again I think that website is actually a part of what I approve as "open govenrment" initiative so infromation what they can and can't expect should be freely availaible. Australia needs to re-read its commintment to refugees convention and than actually stick to them. Hence it should immediately repatriate all those arriving in here by "SIEV" as in the convention we have a leg to stand on in this case. Refugees convention clearly states that people entering countries like Australia via a second or third country are indeed in breach of rules and can be sent to their first entry destination unless they've been approved/accepted prior their arrival. It would be actually a different story if all those lets say from Iran or Afghanistan attempted to land on our shores directly from the places of their origin than we are under obligation to accept and help them. This is unbelievable abuse of refugees convention which btw is over 50+ years old anyway and is clearly in a need of update/refresh and not reflecting current mess the World is in. The whole process is simply not working and is being abused by those who I label economic migrants/refugees nothing else. Australia is specifically a soft target thanks to its generous social welfare system as is for example one in Sweden where the streets are full of these eco-refugees. These SIEV arrivees are however a drop in the ocean when compared with a mass immigration rorters from countries like India, China, Philipines, Sudan, Nigeria. These people come here under the disguise of studying or filling skilled job categories for which they can't get the jobs anyway because they're higly unquallified or simply incompetent for those jobs Australia needs and than bring their spouses and parents and sibblings, cousins.........the whole village.... after they managed to cheat their way in legally and than claiming all the benefits Australian tax payers provide while taking up all the low paid jobs and being subsidized even more by the tax payer. These people are lowering standards of living for the rest of us I'm sorry that I have to even think in such way. Some of these people come from places where they've never seen flushable toilet or used cutlery or seen a soap for fsk. Oh and this really irks me off, can anyone explain to me how these so called persecuted refugees from Sudan for example manage so much after only being here for a year or less that seeing them in the local shopping mall with thick golden chains around their necks, designer clothes driving latest Beamers or Mercs and yapping on latest iPhones. Or watching a group of burka clad women standing in front of latest fashion store while shrieking loudly. Did I miss something? That should make you sick and despairing Ray Cheers

  9. Mine is in the shed too with the OEM intercooler, aftermarket intercooler doesn't need shroud/cover/whatever than thing was suppose to do. Cheers
  10. What's wrong with your auto hubs? Are they knackered? If not you can convert them to manual only easily in 10 minutes no coins to spend. Cheers
  11. Good luck with the breaks than .....Have done such thing before? Cheers
  12. Mine is 4 series, it has parkers incorporated in the inner corner of the main h/lamp assy and is single element globe T10. I think yours is the same except it is located in the separate indicator/parker assy on the outer side of the main lamp. I'm sure there is a replacement LED for whatever the type of globe is in there. Cheers
  13. Fitted LED replacement T10 Wedge type globes in to main headlamps (the yellow glow of OEM globes was seriously disturbing to look at after the white glow of bull bar LEDs) part # ZD-0394 from Jaycar $6.30 for two. Cheers
  14. What compound Dronus? Soft, Hard ..................

  16. It appears that your Patrol had a harder life so it is not really a surprise however under normal condition/maintenance they should last a bit longer. Cheersiy
  17. LOL, what do they put in your drinks fellas? Cheers
  18. So low voltage as during starting the the truck or during engine running? Now this load testing batteries business if your battery is flat how can you load test it? Woudn't you charge the battery first on the bench/out of vehicle and than load test it to se if it is able to maintain the charge. I'm just curious because I'm watching mine to fail (still the original Jap unit so I know it is coming) but observing voltages makes me none wiser as when I initially turn the ignition on and glow plugs go about their biz voltage drops to about 11.5V than the engine starts and alternator is charging nicely. So I took the battery out and charged it separately only the charger gave up after an hour saying "fully charged"! So now it is down to 11.7V when glow plugs heat up. Haven't load tested it yet I feel sorry for the old girl (battery). Cheers
  19. Individual fuses? Corroded terminals?Bad earth? Is the globe actually alright?! Cheers
  20. I can't be bothered with facts/myths especially confusing facts/myth. There are two sides of coins in this debate and both have vested interest. The myth that carbon tax can save the planet is one of them. I'm not denying that us humans shaping the planet the way we do does not have consequences and all that polution we put in to atmosphere has to go somewhere and do something but I hate the hypocrasy and outright lies on how to correct the problem that humans living in on the planet is. Number one problem is over population Number two problem is greed Number three problem is resources or lack off.
  21. I've still got OEM fitted but when they wear out I'm going to fit the softer ones, like for 4.8 L Patrol (OEM front only) apparently they fit and braking performance is greatly improved. They appear to be softer compound so choosing that way a better braking is obtained, down side is quicker wear..... I'd guessed the common theme is better braking softer coumpound and quicker wear and if it is the longevity than harder compounds and less braking effect. Cheers
  22. My only "bugbear" with OEM setup is the size of those "allys" being 17", the prices for the rubber go astronomical comparing to 16" and also selection is not that great either. Hence I'm trying to weight my options what will be economical setup for me as I need 6 wheels for remote touring and sadly getting another Patrol OEM alloy 17" rim is like digging for gold in the middle of Sydney Harbour. Traveling in remote areas is also not friendly for 17" rims in regards to availability for spares. So what are my options without selling my first born? It really chits to tears that to buy 1 rim + tyre from Nissan/tyre supplier is the same as buying the whole set + tyres from aftermarket joints when in reality I only need one extra wheel. Cheers
  23. Has anyone used both types wheels e.g. using OEM alloys for daily drives and steelies for rough/offroad trips. I'm considering doing it this way, steelies to 16" rims and OEM allys 17". Is the change of wheel studs and or wheel nuts required when swapping the rims over? Or will be just the wheel nuts required? Cheers
  24. Anyone got the "garage" thingo working yet? Cheers
