G'day lads and ladettes, just a quick intro. I pick up my new GUIII in a few days and yes i k ow about nads too. I've done a little homework with these. I've come across from the Toyota side of the fence as I reckon the grass is greener. I'm in the process of selling my 4runner and because I've always wanted the patrol, seemed like a fantastic idea. Anyway, I'm a soldier. Actually a defence driver trainer/ assessor and that involves cross country, difficult terrain and maintenance. I'm not a mechanic but extremely mechanically minded and do all my own servicing and mods. Although I'm not a good welder. I'm looking forward to the difference my new trol will bring and the…

Hi All seems this forum is on a quiet side. Im relativley new in the wheeling scene and joined a lot of other forums. like, 4wd action/Earth/NissanPatrol/Patrol4x4 and Navara.asia My first rig was a D22 STR 3ltr - however I found the light. It was an expesnive learning point between IFS and Live axle in owning my D22 for only 6 months - I sold it and got myself a stock GUII 3ltr ST. now relatively modded - however my biggest dream is to get elocker for the front. I attached a photo of my current rig BR PBK1776

Hi guys, I came across your forum and decided to join in order to get some 4wd knowledge behind me. A mate of mine is planning a year long 4wd trip around oz and I've decided I'll be joining him. Ive been looking at gu patrols. Can any of you recommend which model was better suited overall for something like this big trip. I've looked at the newer ones but its pushing the budget. Basically, I'd like to know whether I should go for the auto or manual, 2.8, 3.0, or 4.2 (definitely a diesel). Also whether I should aim for common rail or just TDI. I'm open minded, and don't mind gq's either, but judging by their age, I'm assuming it would be pretty hard to find a decent …

Hi guys, I liked the site and the "local" content. I have a manual ( sorry Ray ;-)) 2009 CRD with OME 2" Lift, Safari snorkel, Deluxe ARB bar, Warn XP 9.5 winch, Icom IC-f221 UHF, long ranger 215l tanks, Rhyno pioneer platform, ARB roof top tent, water watch, Redarc dual battery setup, Narva Ultima 225 50w HIDs and home made drawers and a big "box" where the back seats normally goes. The usual stuff ;-) Anyway, love the Nissan and love the stuff I can do to it with the aid of valuable forums like this. - Cheers Sizzle .... Sent from my Inter-Web device.

Took my GU in after wiring harness under dash caught fire. Worst service anywhere. Been 6 weeks already and told yesterday it might be another 3 weeks. Should be a warranty job but DC is blaming the spot light harness for starting fire. Funny thing is the fire started in the fuse box and spotty harness is under bonnet. Called DC Motors 7 times in past 3 weeks and still waiting for my call to be returned. WARNING - DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO DCs.

Hi everyone Just came accross your forum so tnought i would give it a go. I am already a member off the other aussie patrol forums, but like to keep up to date with everything Patrol related. I live on the north side of Brissy and own a GU3 with the wonderful ZD30 engine. Just done over 200,000 andwas rebuilt recently. I have all the nads mods except the catch can done and have also fitted a dp chip. I have 33 inch tyres and a 2 inch lift. Been to most of the 4x4 parks and had a pretty good look around the Glass house mountain area. Look forward to chatting and hopefully wheeling with some of you in the near future Cheers Nick

hello all, after many years without a nissan patrol in the family, a GU3 came our way. 2002 with low ks and not a scratch. Has a 3 month warranty so after that passes I will start with the NADS. Many years of GQ living in WA, now moved back to North Coast NSW. Aim of using the GU to find some uncrowded surf, and the odd trip back over west.

G'day all, On a few other forums, same tag, can't get enough of information on Patrols and love peoples ideas and clever mods. Usually do more reading than posting but very, very, often in the background soaking it all up. Look forward to be part of this forum and maybe sharing some knowledge that I have picked up over the years from others. Ty.

  15. G'Day every one, I'm Mick from the central coast. Had my 01 3Ltr GU since 2003, and its been used and abused. It's done a heap of hardcore 4wding in the watagens, some awsome off road trips to different parts of Oz fully loaded and with a camper in tow. The poor old girl still goes pretty hard, but she has blown the 3Ltr once, had the body rebuilt due to an altercation with a tree, and stripped down a number of times after being drowned in mud. I'ts now time to start preserving the car, and you guys seem to have the know how. I look forward to starting work on after we get back from the Territory.

Hi there!! I'm Michael and am only new to 4x4's. I own a 05 GU with 110000k's pretty stock apart from bull bar, cb and arb air lockers. Was wondering how big a tyre I could put on the stock alloy rims and saw a post on the Patrol forum about the nads which led me to this site. Am really impressed with the amount of knowledge on here and am looking forward to you all helping me slowly upgrade my rig. I have decided to go with Mickey Thompson MTZ 285/70/17 as I only have stock suspension. Next was going to be a winch and 3" lift with superflex arms until I red about the nads. Now looks like I'll be doing that instead. Does anyone know the best place to get gauges? I have…

Hey all, I am Antony from Melbourne, I am a locksmith and own a Y61 GU 2013 Patrol. I have owned a Patrol for 18 days now and just starting to spend to upgrade her. We love camping which has lead us into buying a 4x4. Now we are planning trips like Simpson, Kakadu, Top End etc.. As I haven't been off road before I have a lot of learning to do, so "baby steps" trips into the bush before we are ready for the big stuff. Love going up Timbarra, Blackwood, and Snow River Mountains etc. but now we can start doing some of the tracks. Wanting to do the blue mountains and 100 other places. My wife and kids make me take them 5 star camping (Only way she will get in the car) s…

I finished building this truck and completely lost interest and sold it, and thats the short story until now. Now I'm ready to start learning all over again. Cheers Vic.

Hi all. Have been the proud owner of a 2001 3lt GU Patrol for about 6yrs. What a great vehicle, has never let me down.........until Good Friday. Was planning a trip up the Holland Track with a couple of mates when my ever reliable Patrol decided to through it's toys out of the cot. Needless to say this wasn't the greatest day I've had, but sh*t happens right. Whilst on my internet journey to find as much info on my delema I stumbled across this site (cloud with silver lining blah blah) and read some of the useful comments posted on it's pages. I plan on rebuilding the motor and installing a few NADS to try and prevent a re-occurance. I can hear all the 4.2lt boys alread…
