  1. Well it's been a week and it's still going strong... Highway driving every morning and the whole lot looks like its going well.. Fuses are good, points are good..
  2. Fit you want soft don't go Old Man Emu.. I found them to be very well priced and came with everything including steering dampener and gearbox spacers, but dam it's a stiff setup.. I usually drop my tyres to 15psi just to soften the ride..
  3. Yea I was wondering if it was a whole front end or just the centre... (ps kingy I love the sig...)
  4. Thanks for the insite geeyoutoo. But I'm not chasing info on lockers as for the same reasons you mentioned.. There overkill and very expensive.. I'm more looking at an LSD diff. So I have a bit of free wheeling for softer tracks but it won't spin uncontrollable up a hill.. So really in my eyes, the best of both worlds in regards to locked drivability and traction.. But the more I search and read the more I think in not coming to a cheap solution.. After discussing it with the father in-law I honestly don't think the navara or pathfinder diffs would be up to the job of pulling the gq tank especially when the dual batteries and winch are installed.. And I really can't afford the $900 there asking for second had centers to find out..
  5. Is that the correct link?? It's just an info page..
  6. It seams the rear is a 33 spline and the front is 31.. Navara and pathfinders run these diffs splines..
  7. Yes The more i read the more i find the same which is weird.. I would have thought both diffs would be the same gears so the ratios are the same..
  8. Well I've been looking at pro and cons of it.. I personally like the idea over a locker.. And Nissan do make a mean LSD.. Mine still going strong in the rear at 480,000k's So any thoughts?? Local wreckers have a gq in the yard ATM with rear LSD, I'm pretty sure it'll bolt straight in the front..
  9. I'm with GT using tectaloy 90.. But it's a lot cheaper to get the concentrate and mix it yourself.. Just filter your water threw a fine paint filter (my local painter just gives me a couple). It's never looked like overheating even while towing a tamping trailer across the hay plains in 50 degree summers.. And no corrosion on the alloy parts.. But don't mix the red and green.. It doesn't mix and can cause gasket and alloy damage..
  10. If I was to do it I'd use the self adhesive sound deadening heat proof matting.. Only thing is its silver... But any good auto store should be able to help you..
  11. Pretty sure all can be done legally with a bit of paper and a trip over the pits.. $$$ may vary depending on how well you know the bloke and your home state..
  12. Panhard rod bushes and new fan belt idler ordered.. Fingers crossed there here by the weekend..
  13. I had a fun time.. The neighbors wern't to appreciative though.. Maybe the word didn't stretch that far...
  14. You have found heaven Ray.. Lol But I'm totally with you.. Can't beat a good belly...
  15. Best horse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_0dDjoW_o&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  16. That's not good to hear, maybe start up a small 4x4 accessories workshop.. But again. Great job. And fantastic finish.
  17. Ok.. Well I'll keep ya posted on how it lasts..
  18. Would it though?? If the fuse is after the switch then it should be fine.. I might check that tomorrow.
  19. Already taken #102 It ends tonight - All American Rejects
  20. I'm a believer in steelies.. My sunnies are 21years old.. I repainted them 4 years ago but still in excellent condition..
  21. Just found that super cheap auto stock them.. $220 I think it was..
  22. And I have lights... Yay.. I recon this is the first time in a decade that all the lights have worked at the same time... Thanks for the help guys..
  23. And try and get the biggest battery to fit the tray.. With a high crank amperage.. I have a 660 CCA 14.8AH battery in my GQ..
  24. You were close Yender.. After pulling apart the whole dash to discover the Hi beam light is fine (switch indicator and hb bulbs) I worked back to the switch.. I don't know what I was thinking but the was no power at the crimps. So I've popped the back of the contacts part of the unit to find no power at all to the contact do the RHS.. Now these are a moulded box so the lid is as far as you can dig so what I have done is jumped power from the LHS one.. Hope this works...
