  1. Dont worry guys - This forum isnt going anywhere. It has multiple uses for me - One being I get to ask technical questions about my Patrol and actually get answers, another being its a good tax thing for me and third - If other patrol sites die or get 'less popular' then this place may take off. Its been quiet here - But I expected that to happen if the 'other' site recovered.. Who knows what will happen - It seems like its been bought and the new owners may make it an awsome place or they might f$%k it up.
  2. Sweet - I will get this stuff in ASAP and advise on the result. Im not keen on spending big money on gearbox repair for a car only 108000km old. Rumcajs - I didnt do oil swaps etc as the car was purchased from a friend - So I was fairly sure it was looked after.
  3. In the last week or so ive noticed going into second (either from 1st or 3rd) has become notchy - It never grinds, but just doesnt feel smooth. Ive read elsewhere (you all know where) that vmx 80 may help, but thought I would ask here to see if anyone has had any recent experience with this. Ive only owned the car since late May, and have no idea what oil is in it - Its only got 108000km on the clock. Any help appriciated.
  4. Yeah, it aint the forum - its tapatalk..
  5. No, I think maybe a tapatalk update on the phone did that, I noticed it before I did an update on the forum.
  6. Hi Everyone I just completed an upgrade to the latest version of the tapatalk plugin. Shouldnt be any issues, but let me know if you find any.
  7. Would be interesting to know what he is using it for that's for sure.
  8. Or he could be using it to simply power his tractor?! (pig farmer probably has the room required to store large amounts of waste oil - and can probably use it in his trucks etc)
  9. So how does one go about lighting it? Do you just stick a little of oil in the lot and ?
  10. Hopefully we will get him back minus the news and political articles :-)
  11. Congrats people - you have managed to get rid of one of the very few knowledgeable people here willing to write up detailed info for us all. You could have just ignored the non relevant posts. Running a forum is like trying to control a kindergarten class.
  12. Fitted covers for my IPF 800 lights and ordered a gas strut retrofit kit for my kaymar rear bar.
  13. They must be kidding themselves if they think people are going to choose a new GU when the Y62 is sitting next to it on the showroom floor. People will have the shits with the shitty decision they are being asked to make and will goto toyota - Toyota will give them a Prado with all the luxery, contant 4wd AND diesel. If I had to choose between a NEW Diesel Prado, A Petrol Y62 or a Diesel GU the prado would be the pick. That decision would change thou, if the Y62 had a decent diesel engine.
  14. In my experience fixing bloody everyone's computer - Family, friends - I can say that one common issue with PC's is dust coupled with low quality fans with plastic sleave bearings cause more issues than really necessary. Sometimes all thats needed to fix a 'crashing' pc is to get it out the back and blast the shit out of it with my aircompressor - The amount of dust that comes out of the things is incredible - and more so with smokers. Smoke tends to make dust stickier and it accumulates to the point where fins on the heat sink are completly blocked, causing overheating and crashing.
  15. Your technical posts (patrol, gps, tablet, steampunk, etc) are all awsome - This is the sort of information this forum needs, to keep people interested. I love reading it all. More of that I say.. That stuff along with Glorts water injection and other topics makes you two very valuable members - Very interesting reading. The political stuff simply causes problems - Different points of view causes stress and points of conflict which we really dont need. I vote for more techical less everything else. It also sucks when I click on the 'View New Content' section and have to dig down for the latest techical info, skipping past many 'news' snippits. I vote that you dont go anywhere. Keep up the good technical writing.
  16. If you have a laptop thats feeling a bit 'not-so-fast' anymore - Grab a decent SSD and whack it in - Not only will you safeguard your data from knocks which laptops can get but your laptop will feel almost new again.. Boot times will reduce significantly and eveything just works HEAPS quicker. The speed improvement in laptops is usually more than that of a desktop due to most laptops having 5400rpm 2.5" drives vs 7500rpm desktop drives - They are simply slower therefore the speed bump with SSD is more noticable.
  17. Ive been exclusivly using SSD's in my home PC's for about 2 years now. I started with an OCZ Summit, then moved on to an OCZ Revo PCI based SSD. They scream - I would NEVER EVER go back to a magnetic disk again. They are slow and noisy. One bit of advice, spend the money and buy an SSD thats fast - Currently OCZ Vertex 4 is where its at. If you put one of these into your machine it will transform it. There is simply no better upgrade you can do - no amount of CPU, memory or video card can match the overall speed increase that an SSD will give you. Go for it!
  18. I havnt been in here before, but reading what's in here it seems to flow? I've only ever deleted accidental or duplicate posts.
  19. Haha - I personally hate wind generation. The noise travels and they are a blight on our landscape. Insanity.
  20. People forget the taxes removed from imported electronics - Like TV's, stereos etc - whent he GST was introduced. I believe the tax was somewhere in the order of 20 or 30 %. Consumer electronics went down in price conciderably after the GST due to the removal of this tax. People only remember when things go up.
  21. Just purchased those batteries - thanks for the tip. Would love a big batt to fit the. P7
  22. Led lenser p7 are great... Not sure if this is what you mean by low cost thou.
