Need an extra 20ltrs in ya tank???
Yep.. Mine is the diesel sorry.

Welder
Sorry but I thought you were talking stick welders.. My bad.. But what I have said still stands.. Your power supply is vital. And a 180-200 mig is a nice little welder.. But quality is s must.. CIG, WIA, BOC... Spend it right, spend it right..

Need an extra 20ltrs in ya tank???
Simple really. Took me 40 mins (20 to get the plug apart...)
-
Welder
Reefmagnet Yep.. That's how they work. You weld about that make and the welder will only draw 10A.. Crank it to 150+ it pop.. Tonka I've just spent the afternoon rebuilding and hard facing a 12mm chute for a timber chipper using a 130A BOC stick welder.. Like I said, buy decent and buy it once.. Doesn't need to be extreme amperage.. Just quality.. EDIT.. Has just clicked later in the thread that were talking mig welders, not stick.. My bad...
-
Welder
Ok.. A couple of things to consider?? What are you welding? 6mm plate can be welded with a 130amp welder.. 180 is pushing 10mm plate.. Next is your power situation.. Do you have a good 15amp supply?? If not your restricted to a 130-140 amp welder.. Stick to a brand name though.. BOC do a nice little compact stick welder. 130a and smooth...

Need an extra 20ltrs in ya tank???
Well I got told this by a good 4x4'n friend with 2 patrols so I gave it a crack. I got an extra 20ltrs but it's up to you on how well you do the job And tank size.. What I'm about to explain is very simple. All your doing is removing the air gap in your tank. Manufacturers usually give 30% expansion gap. So the steps.. Step one, locate some way to get into your tank... In my 91 LWB GQ it's a simple matter of lifting the floor matting, remove the cover plate and carefully take out the sender unit.. Others may have to remove your tank.. This took a bit because my plug was a bit seized and they ain't very forgiving with length... But all the hoses and bolts came out very easy.. Next to find the breather line.. Mine was towards the rear . It should run next to the filler neck.. Now as you can't fit your head I the hole the whole lot is done by feel.. Once you find the line you can get to work.. Grab a 16mm ring spanner.. Slip the ring over the line (it's metal by the way) and straighten out the bend in the last 100mm of the pipe.. Once happy with that, feel along the pipe for a bracket.. Once found simple push or pull the pipe to flatten the bracket and push the pipe towards the roof.. I got mine within 2 mm of the roof.. The closer you can get it the more you will fit... Clean all your seals and bolt it all back together.. Warning... I have been advised not to fill and leave the car.. As you are removing the air gap you should only fill to the top and then drive... Spillage may occur... Happy modding..

What did you do to your GU today?
Quite simple in the 91 LWB models. Utensil you have to drop the tank.. I'll do a how to thread.

DIY Dual Wheel Carrier/Rearbar
Great job there.. And just the thing I need to see.. I've been looking at all the pre made rear bars and at $1000+ I was thinking Bugga that, I'll make one.. I'm guessing you have used the flangless hubs for the wheel carriers?? I'm still undecided weather to put one on the r/h side as the wheel carrier is already there, but keen for the l/h side for some cans... Just wasn't sure of the internals.. But now I do.. Project no.2 after the snorkel...
