  1. yikes, sounds like you are on the right track. If there is someone around with an ECUtalk they can reset the code for you, hope you get it sorted!
  2. Mine is up on the dash, near the window. Thought about moving it once, but i doubt i will..
  3. Cool, mine had all 3 bolts (they were holding my winch bar on..) I also picked up a winch extension strap, pulley, drag chain, and a winch blanket. I dont work for, or have any affliliation with OL apart going to their open day a few weeks back. Dave was very helpful, good advice and good prices. Even gave my lad some stickers and a Hat! The recovery points bolted straight in, one of my holes didnt line up exaclty, but i think that was because i had been using that hook to snatch quite a bit.. Much more confident with rated recovery points. Just need to work out a bag to put all this in, or design a new set of draws... and of course get back out there and use it@!!! Not sure if they will effect my approach angle.. hope not
  4. Yep bolt straight in using exiting bolts.. I'll get more pics once I finish this Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  5. Mmmmmmm Kudos to dave at opposite lock on south road for the advice on some great gear! Here is one pic .. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  6. Yep I agree technical data shouldn't be separated by state, that makes no sense and I would just post in the general part anyway... X2 for maybe trips section by state. Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Looks sweet! Love the brush bars too.. did you make the fridge slide setup? Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. By some strange coincidence the tip of my RFI 6db on its mount is a couple of mm higher than my roof cage. It doubles up as a warning guide for me when entering carparks or drivethroughs :-) Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I'm looking at putting together a better recovery kit now that the winch is on. I do regularly travel with Toyota's so I think it would be handy to have. I'm tossing up between the Warn kit, the ARB kit and the one roadrunner Offroad sells. Anyone had any experiance with any of these? I'm guessjng at a minimum I will need Another snatch strap Tree trunk protector Snatch block (pulley with greasable nipple) Winch extension strap Drag chain for trees. Some more rated shackles. I'm in two minds about upgrading to rated recovery points too. My telstra rear bar has some kind of dual pin things that I could use a bridle strap on, and I've been snatched a few times with the big asses hook on the front passenger side. Look forward to your feedback.. Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Cheers for all the ideas. We did look for a spot to mount the control box in the engine bay but nothing stood out with all the other crap in there, and with limited time andtheneed to use the supplied cables. My tigerz11 came with an isolation switch so no one can activate the winch by the control box unless they have access to the engine bay. Good news is that after a week of the car sitting in the rain in the driveway and theone mad dash to the indian curry shop in therain after i got back from the airport the control box is as dry as a nuns nasty. I can't see anywhere else that water can get into these new boxes (I've also run silicon over the joins even tho they have o rings, apparently). See how it goes. Kudos to my wife for making it :-) Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I was going to be up there that long weekend too, I'll let you know closer to the time if I'm still going
  12. Cool, have to organise a trip up your way soon!
  13. Hmm maybe something to check out one weekend? I've got a few mates interested, happy to help organise a trip if people interested??
  14. Looks like they are doing something with the database as I was just getting SQL errors.
  15. All good points but remember that if the hose to the boost gauge is leaking (he has a Dawes valve fitted so its teed into that) the boost gauge will not be reading accutately, he might be getting a lot more than 7psi, causing limp mode.. Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  16. I wasn't going to drink tonight as I have to fly out on the redeye in the morning, but bugger it if the admin isn't going to be here, I'll get stuck into some Turkey cans and live chat... Sent from my GT-P7100 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Ohh yeah, don't be afraid to do the "wiggle test" with the pipes, it might assist finding the leak... I'd be interesting to hearing your findings, if its the intercooler its a good excuse for an upgrade to ase or CC. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  18. first things that come to mind.. The hiss sounds like a boost leak. Start the engine and listen for leaks from all the pipes around the inter cooler. Something might have come off, or a hose clamp come loose. There has been reports of hoses getting worn through (especially if the plastic cover has been put back on the engine and not modified) If you can't find any hoses leaking, again with the engine running, spray some soapy water on your intercooler and check for leaks. I'd start there, it defibately sounds like something is leaking.. you mention you have nads, check all those pipes too. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  19. Wild child - iggy pop I'm related to the guitarist from the animals.. Hilton valentine.. my sisters husbands sister is married to him... little bit of trivia there
  20. I'd better go back and get my undies off the flag pole out the front , if you know what i mean...
  21. I followed your guide on the other forum a while ago Ray and did this mod on my 2001 GU2. Everything lines up and works sweet. Nissan in Adelaide did have to order them their Melbourne warehouse overnight. No more turning the fan on after belting down a dirt road and getting covered in dust! Brilliant!
  22. Great idea. Practical and functional... Might do this myself i reakon.. i have slim front number plates but anything to keep the grime and wildlife from coating the winch has to be a good thing...
  23. Thats a great idea Ray! Might have to look into that.. wonder if modifying the cables would affect warrenty? Although, from what ive read water ingress into the controlbox isnt covered by warrenty anyway so anything to prevent it is a good thing.
  24. G'day Russ, Sorry i dont have it anymore.. If you give the guy at OzLED a call and tell him what model car you have he will be able to tell you. Perhaps post it back here for us all to see?
  25. Great info there, thanks. Yes im still completing this guide, it shouldnt be too much longer, sorry for the wait
