  1. It almost makes me want to apply for the said position ...... I know how you feel I have to look after some apprentices and OMFG I want to smash my head with the hammer ....................... Cheers
  2. Select "more reply options" than at the bottom of the editor window you'll see paper clip icon with "path to file/pic" tab and buttons "Browse" and "Clear" click on browse to select a pic on your computer than click "Attach This File" button underneath of the "path to file/pic" tab. alternatively upload you pics to some photo/pics website like Photobucket and use "picture link" in the editor menu. Cheers
  3. Merc, other than G-Wagen meh. Anyway enjoy. Cheers
  4. I'm guessing there would be a point in sharing those pics..... Moralana scenic drive the Western edge of Wilpena pound at Flinders Ranges and at Merna Mora Wowee track. Cheers
  5. Tim, I thought that "bead lockers" are illegal on road going vehicles or are those split rims than?
  6. I've been think about the veg oil (new) as well, considering that it is much cheaper than 2T. My concern is however of its effect on fragile ZD30 injection pump. About the smell, as a young lad I used the castor oil in my 2 stroke dirt bike...it smelled so good.....I wonder what would that do in the Trol.... Cheers
  7. I'd get GQ instead, Disneyland and that part of the world is sooo over rated. Good luck in your ad ventures Cheers
  8. Anyone running both Chemtech Diesel Power and 2 stroke oil on every fuel tank fill? I've been adding 2 stroke oil in to fuel tank every fill for last 12 months, unfortunately my local Supercheap store is no longer selling the one I've been using (Gulf Western 2 stroke). So got a bottle of Chemtech Diesel Power for now and now I'm thinking maybe it would be beneficial to run both at the same time. Any experience with this? Cheers
  9. You'll need valid passport but as Australian citizen/passport holder you don't need visas. FAQ New Zealand travel Cheers
  10. Finally decided to swap reverse lights (utterly useless) for indicators (more useful, so the idiots who tailgate can see) and install new truck sourced LED reverse light in rear bumper. Pity mine has a cut out for spare wheel in the bumper, it'd be good to fit second one on that side. Run the harness out on RHS rear gromment (wanted to avoid exhaust pipe) it turned out rather well lit. Replaced set of intercooler hose clamps for decent one (unlike the cheap ass Nissan attempt). Cheers
  11. Actually no, some of us just dared to disagree and perhaps he's got a lot on his plate lately. He himself had put up the challenge after being called on some of his questionable POV. I don't really understand his need to "push the envelope" but no one had anything nasty to say to him. Cheers
  12. Geez I can't wait for my trip up there. I've been sussing the whole thing for a while, checking U tube footage and various trip reports, looks like an epic adventure. Cheers
  13. I think Ray is having a bit of blue.... Just check out what he's up to on another forum --> Ray vs rjhug1 on P4x4.com it is hilarious and it is still going on, 4+ pages What happened to that man, sour grapes or what he's all out raving mad .... Cheers
  14. This is gold --> "Gabe Newell (of Valve fame) wants to support Linux because he think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in PC space." Ray, you'd better talk the man in to some senses...... or just point him to your thread over here.... Cheers
  15. Another good trick is to pressurize fuel tank to help with lifting fuel up, of course one needs compressor and some sort of cap/plug at the filler. I'm confident that if the primer works and you've got enough fuel in the tank you should be able to prime the filter. Sometimes particularly when running out of fuel just adding 10 liters is not enough especially with larger fuel tanks. Another way to confirm that lift/pick up system works is to run a line from a jerry straight to fuel filter and see if you can get the fuel in to IP. All these suggestions are on the extreme end of fuel priming scale. Just make sure fuel filter is properly fitted/sealed and there is enough fuel in the tank. Cheers
  16. The hose underneath the filter is not bleeder hose it is drain hose to drain water from the filter. Close the tap, having it open just renders priming pump useless basically hand primer is trying to suck fuel or air in this case through that. Remove hose from outlet (the one going in to injection pump) on the filter than prime/hand pump until until fuel comes out from the fitting, than reconnect the hose and prime rest of the system. Another old trick is to fill the fuel filter to the brim (with fuel obviously), refit than continue priming. Cheers
  17. TBH, I dislike this direction 4WD/SUVs manufacturers/markets are taking. I don't mind utilitarian vehicles but none which are left on the market have decent engines and or are leftovers from 60-70s like Land Rover Defender or Landcrab 7x series. Y61 series perhaps is good to be left on continuing alongside the Y62 but Nissan gotta update it with a decent Diesel engine (this is where Nissan completely F-ed up all those years ago, I'm absolutely astounded at the fact that such manufacturer is simply so impotent to develop a decent Diesel.) There is no way I'm buying a new car with same old ZD30 tech engine. I understand that World wide there is a big push to kill off Diesels in passenger cars and trucks by encumbering them with so much emission tech addons that it simply becomes too expensive and unviable to operate such vehicles. Cheers
  18. New Patrol tackles Big Red What a joke These Nissan people are utter morons, here they had great opportunity to showcase what that unit can do and instead they take it there on the back of the truck as if implying this is how you'll end up if taking this precious barge to anything harsher than Toorak supermarket carpark. Oh well another "Toorak tractor" on sale in Oz. Cheers
  19. There is more to it, perhaps because you want some sort of control and failsafe. So speed and brake related conditions need to be taken in to account as well as transmission temperature. I haven't done it personally as mine is manual but I'd wanted to have those safety overides for sure. Have a look here - for an example how it is done Lock up converter manual switch Here is another look at it courtesy of P4x4.com Patrol auto converter lockup Also a diagram from there Ultimately it can be simple if you keep remembering that the switch is active, otherwise you'll have engine stalling. Cheers
  20. Just in case Ray comes back (it looks like he's picked up another fight to follow on Patrol4x4.com) there is a good place at which to lock your horns with other people ---> Australian internet and technology discussion forums It caters for all your favorite subjects, Ray Cheers
  21. Welcome to Australia .....
  22. Your is a dream purchase, nothing I'd like more than to come across a vehicle like that. I see you've also added sliders/steps as well. Have you still got a stock exhaust on that thing? Cheers
  23. Why don't we just keep with the theme of this forum, >> Nissan Patrol and things related to 4WDing.<< I enjoyed/liked reading your posts about GPS unit/software or Diesel chip review, for example kudos for that. This shyte is not relevant and makes no sense. Cheers
  24. Ray, until now I had a fun to tease you a bit, but it appears in fact it is obvious that you are a zealot I'd try to avoid at all cost. I'm not going going to assist you with your intent on poisoning this forum with your useless irrelevant dribble and raving diatribes about causes for which you've wrapped yourself in the banner of Righteousness. This is Nissan Patrol forum not your personal ranting blog about shyte you don't like or approve. Hence my best way to deal with trolls like you is to simply ignore your posting about irrelevant crap hopefully you'll grow sick off it. Don't you have some thing better do to like assist those down on their luck or something. Your energy would better spent that way and possibly you'd feel better and less grumpy. Join the Rotary or Lions club, go on use your wealth, knowledge, expertise on improving lives of those people the green movement or is it a labor movement or unions or gays or some religious movements which are so hell bent on ruining or something. Find a worthwhile cause as all that boredom you are currently experiencing is making you appearing as crazy on Internet. Like the thread you've started --> Au revoir! What am I thinking again, I'm just perpetuating the obvious that is giving an instant gratification to a compulsive behaviour of posting crap nobody is interested in. Geez this is really stupid. I did read that last link and all I can say that while the certain beliefs I have were challenged most of the article/s is/were just utter propaganda and brain washing from the opposing side. What a nice try lumping Nazis and Green movement in the same corner for example.
