  1. Not sure I follow but I'm pretty sure you will need a new injector with NLS if the internal connection is damaged..... Regards
  2. G'day, Welcome to the forum. Feel free to share your experiences with driving mighty GQ (Y60) in continental Europe. Are there any places still left in your area to use that beast in its full potential? Regards

Yay, finally there, so far no problems. Regards
  4. G'day mate, Taking away control of variable geometry turbocharger from the engine ECU is great improvement to overall performance. Removing VNT control you need to limit your boost somehow and that's where Dawes valve comes in, indeed I recommend going for a local solution called Tillix valve. A needle valve is there to slow down the rate of turbo spoolup, I actually drove mine for a while with the needle valve fully closed (not functioning) and the low down turbo spool up was phenomenal except I decided to play it safe as well as ECU causing limps so I set it up to avoid those. For performance improvements and reduction in EGTs when cruising on the highway I fully recommend you try them. It will transform the car and you'll be hooked. I don't think I'd ever go back to factory setup on mine for sure, especially if you're considering EGR plate fitted as well which might bring engine check lamp ON (especially on late CrD ZD30)some get away with drilling a small hole in the plate to fool the ECU. If you need some convincing then test the theory yourself, after fitting EGT gauge (why bother with boost gauge I don't know as you have an access to OBD2 data via a cheap scanner like Scangauge) check the results before (with ECU controlling turbo and after with needle valve/Tillix valve combo. Regards
  5. Yep, It happens especially when too aggressive spool up is set or possibly too slow so you may have to play with the adjustment of the needle valve a bit. If you are getting over 11 psi boost under 1,950 RPM then you might have the spool up a little too eager. It will probably take a few trials and errors to get right. I would try to set the system without DP chip first and then introduce the DP unit to it and fine tune as required. Regards
  6. Nah, mate leave the DP chip in, it actually goes nicely with the rest of the mods. I'm wondering you're not mentioning anything about a needle valve in there so I hope it is. Regards
  7. Yeah, I've been leaning towards GME products a bit, I also found out I can get them through work at wholesale price as well so I'm going for that one. Regards
  8. Hi All, With the expectant 40 channel UHF units becoming illegal after July 2017 despite ACMA issuing proposed changes to that ==> CB changes it is reasonable to assume that even if they opt for extension eventually the 40 channels units will become invalid.... With that in mind I'm currently looking at replacing mine because all my mates with 80 ch units whinge that they can't hear me properly as well as looking for better options then the Uniden 015SX provides. What is really amazing that that is still available for sale on E-bay from AU ==> ( Uniden UH015SX ) sellers despite being illegal to do so since 2012. With that in mind what are my options? GME: pros: AU made, large selection, indeed they've got perfect replacement for mine UH015SX to TX3520SW cons: pricey Icom: pros: apparently professional gear cons: not much to choose from.... Oricom: pros: cheaper, cons: quality issues.... Uniden: pros: no idea cons: terrible reviews Regards
  9. Sweet set of wheels, well done mate on getting what is undoubtedly one of best Patrols ever (GQ) Really nice clean looking rig. Regards
  10. G'day, I can't see why it wouldn't be possible however there may be some caveats mainly regarding the steering wheel position especially if you are considering LH drive vehicle import to continental Europe (France) then again Y62 is made for RH driving countries as well. IMHO should be OK for UK but the best bet is to contact imports authorities in relevant places. My take is though given the size of the engine it will attract monstrous amount of road tax especially in the UK. Regards
  11. G'day mate, Welcome to the forum, make yourself at home here. The engine bay of your rig looks good, looking forward to more pics. Regards
  12. So, your post is so confusing to read but I think I have managed the following take from it: You have aftermarket stereo am I right? If so what is it? You have some addional wiring to it for reverse camera am I right? My take is that there is some horrible cut and splice electrical job in there, how about finding out what is connected to what. If answer is yes to aftermarket stereo then: The adapter to convert to Nissan wiring harness, is it correct? Because the stereo should have no influence or be interferred when you use indicators or brakes unless these circuits somehow back feed through display/switches night illumination (blue and black wire usually) Also reverse lights signal is used for reverse camera, some aftermarket stereos (especially the ones with 6" color display/touch screen) require park brake signal wired. Regards
  13. What motor? RD28 has crank sensor too, so does TD42Ti..... if ZD30 Di ==> The crankshaft position sensor (TDC) monitors engine speed by means of signals from the sensing plate (with three protrusions) installed to the crankshaft pulley. The data signal output is detected at ATDC 70° and sent to the ECM. The sensor signal is used for fuel injection control and fuel injection timing control... It has magnetic inductive sensor which is generating its own AC voltage or so is my understanding. Only Hall effect sensors require power supply. You really need an oscilloscope to measure anything in there... You can measure however resistance between crankshaft position sensor (TDC) terminals 1 and 2. should be: 1200 -1600 Ohms at 20°C * Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 47 and terminal 2.Continuity should exist. * Check harness continuity between terminal 1 and ECM terminal 44.Continuity should exist. * Check harness continuity between crankshaft position sensor (TDC) terminal 3 and engine ground. Continuity should exist. Check the gap/clearance should be 0.2-1.8 mm B/R
  14. I've got Walbro FRB-13, good unit but I think I can make it even better with Walbro FRB-22 (higher output pressure) so I'll be changing soon to that one. Other use Carter 4600 if I had space under bonnet (my preferred instalation location) I'd get FASS unit with built in fuel filters. With Carter you have make a by-pass installation if it stops running, with Walbro you don't its flow trough is unaffected if the pump is off. Regards
  15. Most reader you have tried are probably OBD2 types, Nissan has fooled a lot of people with that one as the bastards use what looks like OBD2 plug but is not OBD2 communication protocol, it is still that pathetic proprietary Nissan Consult crap. Unless yours actually has Consult plug If you have an access to MS® OS based mobile computer then the best software to use is ECUtalk and you can either make your own interface or purchase one from ECUtalk website, there you research the Nissan trickery with the plugs etc, they have a good run down on what is what. ECUtalk interface Regards
  16. Hey, It has been common that aftermarket belts differ in size, also you don't mention the belt tensioner itself just the pulley. It is also common that tensioner binds up as you tighten the mounting bolt/nut so what essentially happens is that tension on the spring is reduced. Make sure you have right size belt, tensioner is working correctly and indeed the alternator is easy to spin, BTW did you route the belt correctly? Regards
  17. I don't have one (Y62 or OL bar) so my comment is not really that relevant just an opinion.... They're built in SE Asia (OL) and what I think you should take in to consideration is the weight of each unit. IMHO I'd go for just a bumper style unit (no loops) or maybe Sahara (centre loop only) Regards
  18. G'day mate, welcome to the forum. Feel free to share your experiences. Regards
  19. I don't think you can do all the mods however the catch can, boost and exhaust temp gauges are useful on RD28 engine. There is no point in having Dawes valves there as RD28 doesn't have variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), blocking EGR though is recommended. I'm not sure on benefits of having JDVM in there and adding extra fuel lift pump can't hurt either so will not hurt to have a better control of glow plugs.... Regards
  20. G'day, first of all I never heard of 3.3 L in GU/GR or Y61 so is this a typo and you mean 3.0 L aka ZD30 engine? Edit: Excuse my ignorance, I have looked around and noticed your post in MK section so this makes sense now. Nissan Patrol MK/MQ with SD33T engine and possibly built in Spain from 1983 to 1988 I guess. 3rd generation of Patrol..... Regards
  21. OK, so what was it? Regards
  22. G'day, welcome to the forum, Radio unit has/should have 2x powers supplies, one from battery via fuse no 56 (10 Amp) in the engine bay RHS after the battery the so called memory backup and another from ignition switch ACC or ON position via fuse no 10 (also 10 Amp) inside the cabin above accelerator pedal. e.g. bellow example I'm not sure which one you have as there are numbers of different models/types with specific harness however it appears that fuses numbers and locations are the same. I have looked up up to 2004 models and the location and numbers are the same. Also a lot of electronic devices like radios/tv/cassette players have extra glass fuses inside the units, the holders are soldered to the circuit board somewhere inside. Shouldn't be that hard to have look if you are sure that you have positive voltage on those two e.g terminals (pin 6 and pin 10) or just probe wires until you locate two voltage sources in the plug. I wish this happened to me that way I could finally upgrade to dual din 6" multimedia "Ebay special" without regret, LOL. Regards
  23. Well it has been over a month now and I love this cruise control system even more. Works flawlessly and has none of the factory OEM design stupidity or lunacy. Absolutely brilliant. The impotence and incompetence of Nissan Co is simply astounding. My only wish is to find the way to disable that idiotic 30km/h limit..... Regards
  24. G'day, TD42Ti intercooler should work but you will have to obtain the entire assembly setup including brackets which go from the the bulkhead to the front cross member. See pic bellow. That might be rising the cost, as for which intercooler there are several to choose from: HPD or Cross Country but none are cheap but are complete package with all the hardware as well, then there is "ARE intercoolers" but I think they only upgrade your old intercooler..... otherwise you might have to do an Ebay job and make all the brackets yourself. Regards
